Last week, I discovered the great song, “Beadie”, by Sluice. Hard not to love a tune named after Amy Ryan’s character on “The Wire” that mentions Joe Pera and has lines like: “I cried at the State Fair honeybee tent, hearing how they pick their queen, I got back on the SSRI’s”.

Just re-watched the great, underrated film noir classic “Force of Evil” which I first learned about when Scorsese raved about it in a doc. Such a shame that John Garfield and writer/director Abraham Polonsky both paid such a huge price for courageously refusing to name names during the Red Scare.
