I'm unsure if Sylvania: The Cursed Country is a better book than Night's Dark Masters; there's a bit of a tonal dissonance between the two (as one would expect given 2026 and 2007). I will say this though, Sylvania does absolutely sell a sense of rural other WHFRP books don't; its unique to see.

Y'know, rage I can do something with. Contempt has its value too. But anger? Just kinda upsets my guts and makes me tired. It is without direction, or the means to use it. I do not care for it. Too base, too unrefined. Arguably better, it can pass quicker. But it is a rarity vs others of the type.

I've been trying to get out for years. Alas most options are atrocity, subjected to atrocity, or actually don't exist. I've long said I'd kill to bag groceries. Better options in being a backwoods slasher than in RPGs, but my fear of ticks keeps me from donning the mask. Among other things.

I’m going to go even further and say I don’t believe anyone can make a sustainable living long term (and rarely even medium term) in the ttrpg industry. Sorry not sorry. The sooner you accept it and stop trying, the less you’ll hurt yourself in the process.

Honestly, really enjoyed the new Spider-Man. It is rare to see a MCU film with a plot structure, competent storylines, a villain who has presence throughout the whole thing without feeling like a twist/set-up; and which also clearly set things up to come. I was not expecting it to be good.

I struggled with this a lot with writing the asura in Tiger Princess; but the lens was more about the nature of fatalism in spiritual beings. The asura of the city want to be people but were punished for seeking such things; not it is unclear if they are illusions, grief manifested, or real beings.

Treated myself to playing through Rogue Trader again, and the starting parts of Void Shadows are very fun and feel appropriately like actually playing a session of the RPG. Being able to yell at a BDSM cult leader for letting your homies take the service elevator while you're in the Descent? Funny.

Putting together my to-do list for August. Hoo boy.

May 15th to July 30th. 76 days, 156 pages. Done on The Tiger Princess of Treacherous Tripura. Factor in probably 3 weeks of depression, plus that heatwave week, plus 10 days out of the state, a few weekends working conventions. I'm thrilled. Given, additionally, the research I put into things.

For #DemonMonth I've been cooking on a city-crawl a la Fever-Dreaming Marlinko; in this case, the thrice-fallen fortresses of Tripura now located in the underworld. Mayasura, the Architect of Earthly Illusions, has rebuilt his grand works - and worse yet; he has found love. That never ends well.

I have no clue why it was on that slide or who put it there, and every member of the crew I worked with is 100% against AI. Every aspect of the animation is handcrafted by real artists and I hope that people don’t use this slide as a reason to detract from how much love and labor went into the film.
