Proud to have been part of #BrightonPride yesterday. ๐ณ๏ธโ๐ Here are a few more moments from a fantastic day representing Brighton RNLI alongside volunteers and lifeguards from across the charity. ๐ธ Sussex News
What a day at Brighton Pride! ๐ณ๏ธโ๐ Thank you to everyone who waved, cheered and supported our volunteers as we made our way through today's parade. We were proud to be part of such an incredible celebration and to represent the RNLI in our community. Happy Pride, Brighton! ๐๐ค
What a privilege to take part in #BrightonPride today as an RNLI volunteer. An incredible atmosphere, lots of friendly faces and a reminder of what makes Brighton such a special place. Thanks to everyone who gave us a wave along the route. ๐ค
๐จ Our volunteer crew launched overnight after reports of two people in the water by Brighton's West Pier. Extensive searches of the shoreline and sea were carried out before the lifeboat was stood down. If you see someone in trouble at the coast, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
๐จ Our volunteer crew were tasked by HM Coastguard at 2.52am after reports of a person entering the water west of Brighton Palace Pier. Thankfully, the casualty was safely recovered ashore before our lifeboat launched. ๐ If you see anyone in difficulty at sea, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard. ๐
Warm weather doesn't always mean safe conditions. โ๏ธ๐ Our volunteer crew rescued two paddleboarders after offshore winds carried them away from Brighton beach. If you're heading out this summer, check the weather and tides, wear a buoyancy aid and carry a phone in a waterproof pouch. ๐

๐จ Busy 24 hours โ three shouts and two launches. We towed a vessel back to #Brighton Marina after engine failure and launched to a kayaker in difficulty, who made it ashore safely. A reminder to check conditions and carry a means of calling for help. rnli.org/news-and-med...

At 1.12pm on Monday, our volunteer crew launched following reports of a person in the water near #Brighton Palace Pier. A search was carried out in the area. The person was located and is now safe. We were stood down at 1.30pm. Thank you to our volunteer crew for their swift response.
Two Sunday callouts: A windsurfer near Saltdean Lido made it safely back to shore after their sail snapped. Shortly after, the lifeboat launched to a paddleboarder off King Alfred. They were found safe and well, with no assistance needed. ๐ Always check conditions before heading out.
Brighton RNLI has responded to several shouts along the cityโs coastline in recent days. This included a launch to #Brighton Palace Pier, as well as searches offshore & along the coast following reports of vessels in difficulty, a possible person in the water, and a red flare sighted near the i360.
๐จ Our volunteer crew launched last night following reports of a red flare off Brightonโs seafront. After a full search, no person or vessel in difficulty was found and a flare casing was later located on the beach. Flares should only ever be used in a genuine emergency.
โ ๏ธ Weather warnings in place as Storm Chandra brings strong winds and heavy rain to the south coast. Sea conditions can change fast. Stay back from the waterโs edge and avoid piers and harbour walls. In an emergency, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
