A recent ruling by Quebec’s housing tribunal has found the no-pet clause of a rental lease to be in violation of the province's Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms.

One of the more discouraging parts of living in a province (PEI) with unit-based rent control: Enforcement relies on existing tenants filing a form for the potential to have overpaid rent returned to them + have rent for their unit be lowered to the legal amount.
