So the DNC Project 2028/9 is towing the line for Heritage Foundation. And none other than Corey Booker is the lead on that, the same Corey Booker who was suspiciously on Peter Thiel's secret dialog seminar invitation list. Democrats are just repackaging the same agenda now. @fightforthefuture.org

While I love that #Bluesky is all about the open internet. the problem is that scrapers take that to mean user generated content is a free-for-all and not still our own intellectual property. It might be time to explore 100% private/encrypted social media options. www.emarketer.com/content/blue...
Bluesky’s privacy problems: Openness vs. user data safety in the age of AI scraping
The social app’s porous data security could undermine trust. Its decentralized vision won’t matter if users feel their content is AI fodder without consent.

The New York Legislature has passed landmark legislation to stop surveillance pricing and ban corporations from using personal data to set individualized prices. The bill now heads to the desk of Governor Kathy Hochul.
🚨 🚨 🚨 THE MASSACHUSETTS HOUSE IS VOTING ON DATA PRIVACY TODAY!!! Call your Reps and tell them to support the ACLU-backed amendments that make H. 4746 stronger, and OPPOSE amendment 18 that makes it weaker. Reskeet to get this in front of as many massholes as possible!!! FFTF.link/madataprivacy

TODAY The Massachusetts House of Representatives is set to vote on the Massachusetts Consumer Data Privacy Act I heard. Any updates? @fightforthefuture.org
I like Erika. She definitely needs more donations, fundraisers, and doorknockers. She's not a doormat to the lobbies and establishment grifters. And she doesn't go along to get along when it comes to the nonsense.
This morning I was part of a panel for The @wbur.org Festival with Miriam Wasser, Matt Nelson, and Mary Wambui: “The Price of Power, Why Your Energy Bills Keep Rising.” We unpacked the market and policy drivers behind the skyrocketing electric and gas bills across New England.
This was excellent. Listen to this in the car or while cleaning. It's a bit long but well done! peertube.futo.org/w/okojvKJL5P...

BREAKING: The CFPB has deleted 15 years' worth of data off its website. Every post that predates Trump's second term has been removed except for reports mandated by Congress. In total some 1,700 pages on the website have been wiped out.
The 2 biggest excuses I hear is (a) Privacy doesn't exist anymore (b) I don't care about my data being shared. But the fact is, your email/texts are to/from others, your locations go to others, your photos aren't all selfies, and more. Those people didn't consent to you sharing their data.

I do NOT support fascism nor the current administration but I'm Independent. I will not tow a blue wagon if it's just more authoritarianism in blue drag. I feel strongly about protecting ALL civil rights, kids included. They will be who wipes our butts in the nursing homes. Don't make them hate us.
How to make kids not Liberals 101: Make them HATE their parents and school by cutting them off from long term bonds. Teach them to not get "attached" in social situation. Make them into sociopath workhorse "professionals" who can mask and go home and cry in the shower like we all do.
I agree completely. They'll see when their kids hate them and hate school. They're experimenting on our kids IMO. They want to see if they can "break" neurodivergence and introversion and other things. Like ABA, forcing them to adapt, improves "high masking" (but leads to trauma)
Based on this, it looks like Facebook / Insta / Whatsapp will ban Massachusetts as well since the legislation looks very similar to what might happen here: stateofsurveillance.org/news/meta-ne...
Day One in Santa Fe: Meta Trial Phase 2 Opens With State Demanding the Algorithm Be Rebuilt - State of Surveillance
Phase 2 of New Mexico v. Meta opened May 4 in Santa Fe before Judge Bryan Biedscheid. The state laid out a sweeping remedies wishlist — a 90-hour monthly cap on minors, no autoplay, no infinite scroll, no push notifications during school or sleep, age verification, an end to end-to-end encryption for under-18s, and a court-appointed monitor. Meta says the demands are technically impossible. The judge has three weeks to decide.

This makes me sad. 1 in 2 Gen Z are anxious about online privacy. News say the internet makes young people anxious and depressed, but rarely is honest about why. The reason there's no improvement in mental health despite global laws is because they're cherry picking the data to fit an agenda.
Over 1 in 2 Gen Z are anxious about online privacy and misinformation
• Recent Experian research shows that concern about scams and misinformation among 18–24-year-olds has nearly tripled in the past year¹ • Gen Z are now more anxious about online privacy and misinformation than older generations, who focus more on identity theft and phishing¹ • As students begin university, Experian is sharing practical guidance to help Freshers avoid scams and build strong financial habits

☝🏽 The WHOLE POINT of Declaring Independence was dissent from authoritarianism. Idgaf if that's federal state or local or any party. ☝🏽 The WHOLE POINT of any Constitution (fed or state) is to PROTECT the "RIGHTS" (entitlements) of human beings. We have lost the plot and THAT is why we're falling.
Massachusetts should require internet safety and personal cybersecurity curriculum gradewide K-12 and at state colleges. They should also build and incentivize free courses for existing adults. They could work with internet providers to give out goodie bags for adults who get certified.
