Even if no one else reads it, you are a writer. Even if you're afraid its not good enough, you are a writer. And if you have ever doubted that, there is an entire community here ready to support you. That's what Broadleaf Writers Association was founded on. Its the mission we've been carrying for 11 years. The best time to write is right MEOW! We know a blank page can be scary. But the only way that page is going to fill with your writing is if you actually write. So go put some words down. 100 words or 1000 words, it doesn't matter. As long as you end up with more than you started with.

The introduction to your story will make or break the interest readers or literary agents have in your work. Here are some Do's and Dont's: ✅ Action or Conflict ✅ Shocking Confession ✅ Unique Voice ✅ A Question to Answer ❌ Describing the Setting ❌ Cliches ❌ Passive voice ❌ Info dumping Good luck!

The introduction to your story will make or break the interest readers or literary agents have in your work. It's the introduction to your To hook readers, your first sentence needs one or more of the following elements: ✅ Action or Conflict ✅ A Shocking or Unusual Statement or Confession ✅ A Unique or Intriguing Voice ✅ A Question that Demands an Answer Try to avoid: ❌ Describing the setting, unless its shocking ❌ Cliches, like just waking up ❌ Overly flowery or long winded wording ❌ Passive voice ❌ Info dumping Good luck and keep writing!
