I groan and whimper as my new phone rings. Grabbing it, I dismiss the call from my boss. I know I'm gonna have to deal with him but I can't do it this early and in pain. I close my eyes, trying to return to sleep as the silence in the room weighs on me.
When my first break arrives, I slip some of my spare simple clothes on and slip out the back so no one sees me. I lean against the wall and light a cigarette. I send a quick message to Laz to check on them.
