Professor & Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous Engagement), The University of Queensland (UQ). Views are mine & don’t represent UQ. Reposts don’t mean I agree.

I attended the Sustainable Minerals Institute (SMI) 25 Yr Celebration at Customs House. SMI works to highlight ways mining can reduce harm & address Australia’s record of Indigenous heritage destruction. We heard from people in the field, researchers, fmr SMI directors, & the Hon Peter Beattie AC.

Ventured out in the rain last night to see the Toni Childs concert at The Vancouver Playhouse & met women from the HKL Org. Childs partners with HKL, a movement that encourages pp to reconnect with the virtues of humility, kindness & love. Flowers were given out at the concert. 🌺🌸🌼👋🏽😀

I spotted these in a local op-shop on the weekend, along with numerous others of similar height & size - 44 / 10-11. One of the volunteer / staff members said one person donated them all, but they weren’t sure if they’re ever going to be able to sell the ‘killer heels’. 👠😮

I spotted these galahs & cockatoos on a block of land where an old carport stood until December. They’re picking at the roots of the new grass & clover that has covered the dirt. It’s normal behaviour & they find the new roots juicy. 🌿🐦👋🏽😀
