Our last stop for National Night Out was Canarsie Park, where I met with Senator Persaud, @council.nyc.gov and the Lions Club. Thank you to everyone who came out today to every precinct. This is community building and how we achieve public safety.

On to Sunset Park! National Night Out was going strong, with basketball for teens and a spectacular performance from a clown for kids and families.

Next stop: Coffey Park where I joined @agounardes.bsky.social and Red Hook Community Justice Center for karaoke and face painting. Our staff was out across every precinct today to meet residents and connect them with the wide array of constituent services available through my office.

Our second stop was Underwood Park where we were joined by NYPD Chief Vasquez and many community partners offering back-to-school supplies, meals, health screenings and more!

It’s National Night Out! Our first stop was Restoration Plaza, where I joined @mayor.nyc.gov, @nypdpc.bsky.social, @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social, #NYAM Walker, and Deputy BP Council in celebrating the historic decline in violence across the city, led by Brooklyn.

Yesterday, we met with the consulate of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to discuss how we can ensure the safety of Brooklyn’s many Caribbean communities at the upcoming West Indian Day parade.

Deeply grateful to @council.nyc.gov for their leadership in prioritizing funding for our Hate Crimes Bureau so that prosecutors have the much-needed resources to investigate and prosecute hate crimes, expand specialized bias training, and strengthen outreach to vulnerable communities.
