A River Red With Blood” John Connolly: The latest Charlie Parker novel, expands the lore of one of the best written and most fully formed detectives in literature, a dark and sinister story of serial killers and supernatural forces combining to make for twisted and enthralling story.
“The Big Steal” Caimh McDonnell: the latest in The Dublin Trilogy (it is more than a trilogy), a wildly implausible adventure that sees a gangster task the most unlikely two men in Dublin to commit an impossible crime . It is funny & heart warming with some of the most quotable lines ever written
A truly brilliant month for new books: Caimh McDonnell, “The Big Steal”, John Connolly, “A River Red With Blood”, Chris Brookmyre, “Quite Ugly One Morning”, and Willy Vlautin, “The Left and the Lucky”. Each in their own right fantastic books . Please read them all, you won’t regret it. 👍
There are few books that get me excited but anytime I know that a Charlie Parker story is due I get giddy. This year the book arrives on my wedding anniversary, so that is my wife’s present sorted 🤣

Over the years I have read all of Chris Brookmyre novels and loved them all. I am so excited about the latest Parlabane novel. But while I wait at least I will have time to boil a frog !

For my money Dave Swinson, is one of the best crime writers working today, his novels are sharp & cut deep, they leave you feeling both moved & overwhelmed. He writes from a place that is real he knows what he is doing & it feels real & relevant. I am so excited to read his new book.
