Actual header on an email I just received from my Discover/CapitalOne account: "Bruce, congrats on your redemption at Amazon" Who knew you could get redemption at Amazon? I think Jesus might want to have a word with them . . .

The name of this picture is "Cat with Dragon and Tissue Box." (I am posting this without the cat's permission.)
I've come to think that second best thing about THE ODYSSEY is watching Elon Musk and his merry band of chuds and incels helplessly flailing in anger over its success. Their impotent rage is hilarious.
Well, this is the stuff of science fiction nightmares: www.telegraph.co.uk/business/202...

It's Full Cast Audio's 25th Birthday! On this day 25 years ago I hired Dan Bostick as my Artistic Director and the company was launched. About 125 books later, we're still at it. Here's a free short story, featuring another of our innovations - using kids as kids! fullcastaudio.com/duffys_jacket/

A camping trip to an isolated and long vacant cabin, an absent-minded cousin, a threatening message on the wall … heck, what could go wrong? A funny, scary delight for listening to late at night … …

The most logical way to read Pete Hegseth's bizarre obsession with performative masculinity is that he is deeply insecure in his own masculinity.
For anyone questioning the appropriateness of my celebrating the death of Lindsey Graham, please understand that I am simply following the social protocols created by the munchkins.
As we are not supposed to speak ill of the dead, I will not speak about the corpse of Lindsay Graham, only note that he was a piece of shit while he was alive. | I'll admit I am kind of hoping that the Grim Reaper was using Mitch and Lindsay as warm-ups for the big job just ahead . . .
It's "I don't want to go outside" degrees out today.

I'm not crazy about all that comes with getting older, but one thing that does give me joy is becoming a "two-generation" author. Here's a lovely photo of a young reader taking delight in his dad's collection of a batch of my books. #kidlit #youngreaders
Jane Yolen passed away this morning and I am in deep mourning. I had the great privilige of being friends with her for over four decades. We laughed together, did panels together, edited each other, and eventually wrote a book together. She was my editor for several books . . . 1/2
I am so stressed out by the world situation & the horrors of the Trump administration that I am contemplating writing a 600 page epic to be called THE TRANQUILIAD. It will be set in a cozy forest glen with a babbling brook and friendly animals, and nothing bad will happen for the entire 600 pages.
If it is OK to have 5000 people in an open air venue in front of the White House, then doesn't that sort of prove that we don't need a giant ballroom for security purposes?
These two picture of the White House before and after Trump can be taken as a metaphor for the USA itself . . . #Trump #TheWhiteHouse
Just back from seeing THE SHEEP DETECTIVES, which is wonderfully funny, sometimes oddly wise, and occasionally quite touching. An absolute gem of a film!
Regarding the Mac Barnett uproar: I just reviewed the 50 pages the current issue of KIRKUS allocated to Kid's & YA. Not much crud detected. I think Barnett must have misplaced the decimal point in his percent of crud comment. 9.47 would be closer to accurate than his absurd 94.7.
1/2 Last month I was at a book event in Minneapolis. Also there was Peter Beagle, who wrote THE LAST UNICORN, a book I've loved for 50 years. On the last morning Peter and his assistant joined me at breakfast in the hotel's otherwise empty restaurant, Peter was carrying a book about Broadway songs.

Last night I found out that I'm a clue in today's NYTimes Crossword puzzle. Though I have some serious issue with the Times, this is a life goal I didn't even know I had and I am still vibrating about it!
#bookfairs If you're in the Minnesota area, this looks like it's going to be a lot of fun! They have a stellar list of authors lined up (I'm honored to be included) and they're planning to celebrate the Book Fairs of the 90's.
