EXACT TRACK 4D RADAR (8:30 AM 8/2/26): Scattered showers on the radar north and west of Metro Detroit, after most of us saw some rain overnight last night and into early this morning. Those that saw the rain overnight saw upwards of 0.50" to over 1" in some places. We add more on today.. #MIWX

Flood Watch for Oakland, Macomb & Others until 5 PM. Flooding possible from heavy rain. Urban/poor drainage flooding and creek/river rises possible. Avoid flooded roads and turn around.

SATURDAY MORNING: Exact Track 4D Radar is tracking a few rain showers west of Metro Detroit as you're waking up this morning. Outside of that, plenty of cloud cover for everyone this morning, and it is a little humid as well. 70s out the door, and expect rain to increase in coverage today! #MIWX

FRIDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy skies, and we should remain dry until after midnight. It will remain warm and humid into the overnight as well. Overnight lows dropping into the upper 60s and lower 70s by early Saturday morning! #MIWX

MORE RAIN CHANCES: With part of the low pressure system moving through over the weekend getting "cutoff" in the upper-levels of the atmosphere, I am keeping the chance for a few rain showers into the region to start next week, Then, another front moves in by Wednesday.. #MIWX

RAINFALL FORECAST: This is from Friday Night through Late Sunday Night, and it looks like we could see anywhere from 1 to 3 inches of rainfall over 48 to 60 hours. So, while we've been dry for a minute and we need some rainfall, this might be too much in some locations.. #MIWX

HEAVY RAIN POTENTIAL: As of Friday Evening, this is where I would start to look for the heavy rainfall potential. Clouds & Radar Forecast brings in the chances for that late Saturday night, and into the overnight hours, and also on Sunday morning We will keep an eye for any flooding concerns.. #MIWX

Expect rain showers to move into the region overnight and into the day on Saturday. After lunchtime, the rain showers should become a little more widespread, and we look to also bring in the chance for a few thunderstorms as well. Umbrellas needed on & off all day.. #MIWX

It's been another nice and warm day across the region for our Friday! A mixture of sunshine and clouds today, temperatures running into the mid to upper 80s & even a few lower 90s this afternoon. Exact Track 4D Radar is dry for the moment, but that all changes this weekend! #MIWX

FEELING MORE UNCOMFORTABLE: As we work into the end of the week and into the weekend, you're going to notice that it will feel more humid than it has the last few days. Our Muggy Meter shows that we will be in the "Sticky" category on Friday, then into the "Humid" category this weekend.. #MIWX

THURSDAY EVENING: We will keep a little bit of cloud cover in the forecast tonight. Expect partly cloudy skies into the overnight hours tonight as well... It will be warmer & more humid in the temperature department. 80s by mid-evening drop into the 70s by midnight tonight.. #MIWX

DRIER... THAN WETTER THIS MONTH: So far this month (July 2026) at Detroit Metro Airport (KDTW), we've only had 6 days that we've seen above a trace of rainfall. And as we look ahead into the end of the week, we will end this month on a dry note before weekend rainfall.. #MIWX

If you think it's been a bit since we've seen any kind of decent rainfall across the region, you'd be right. But, technically we are not in any type of a drought... with one exception. The latest Drought Monitor has portions of Genesee and Lapeer Counties in a D0, or abnormally dry... #MIWX
