#RPGaDay2026 Day 5: BURDEN I've created my share of angsty characters over the years, but when I hear "burden" I immediately think of Jaaziel "J.J." Warren, from @spazzster.bsky.social's amazing and intense run of DIE on @thirdfloorwars.bsky.social. (youtube.com/playlist?lis...)

#RPGaDay2026 Day 4: CHARM I LOVE playing charming characters; my default build in any computer RPG is whatever lets me talk NPCs into giving me their stuff and/or making out with me. (Hat tip to @janedouglas.bsky.social for - I think? - coining the term "Sexterity" for this attribute.)
#RPGaDay2026 Day 3: POISE The essence of poise is, of course, t'skrang swordmaster T'sitas Haital Sessipau from an Earthdawn campaign many a year ago. Loyal, flamboyant, talented, and unflappable, he is fondly remembered to this day.
I'm a day late to begin #RPGaDay2026 but I'm doing it anyway. My plan is to apply each prompt to a character I have played or am playing; we'll see how long it lasts!
New episode dropped - and this time we're talking about games that don't exist! (Although some of them do exist now - it's a long story.) Come give us a listen! www.ascentofboardgames.com/e/episode-82...

I'm quite enjoying Black Jacket from @mipumi.com . It's easy to summarize this game as "Balatro but blackjack," but that does it a disservice. A Slay the Spire-like climb with a lot of fascinating unlocks, more strategy than I expected, and a genuinely well-told story dealt out in dribs and drabs.
I went to follow @chaosium.bsky.social 's upcoming Backerkit for Time Without Tide, and saw this. Huh? Are we pre-ordering our preorders now? Are there limits to the number of people who can back the project? I just don't get it. (Game looks fun though.)
Congratulations to Dr. Reiner Knizia for winning the Kennerspiel des Jahres for Rebirth. This means he has now won all three of the SdJ awards - proof, as if more was needed, of an excellent and extremely prolific career.
Looks like I'm going to be running a campaign of Stonetop...in the fall. How do I wait so long? I want to start NOW. @plusoneexp.bsky.social
I knew this game was gonna be awesome. It's genuinely not fair that it's also gonna be gorgeous.
it's crazy to have been working on this game for 4 years and to finally have mockups of it
This month, we wrap up our retrospective of Fantasy Flight Games, and unfortunately, this month's events aren't quite as positive as last month's. Hope you still enjoy the episode! www.ascentofboardgames.com/e/episode-81...
First game of The Old King's Crown from @theoldkingscrown.bsky.social today, and it's a winner! Add that to World Order from last week, and that's two @gamefound.bsky.social success stories back to back!
As a former boss of mine used to say, "Some customers aren't worth having." I 100% back this approach.
Another public reminder that shitty & insulting emails to our staff will just get your order cancelled and refunded. Other folks should do the same.
This was one of those sessions where we were on the edges of our seats the whole time; if any of our rolls had been just a tiny bit worse, or any of the enemies' rolls just a tiny bit better, we would have had a TPK. Fantastic session! www.youtube.com/live/_nEWTAq...
Tonight’s game of Forbidden Lands on the channel was the example of the dice demanding to be a player. The dice had opinions and we listened and respected them. We had an incredible narrative as a result. I love this hobby.
I already own all this Delta Green material, but I’m tempted to buy it again.
Agents! #GodsTeeth and #ImpossibleLandscapes, two of the most acclaimed campaigns for #TTRPGs and THIRTY-TWO other DG books are available now in the @fanatical.com bundle for only $14.99. That’s YEARS of gameplay for under $15! Get in there and (or) spread the word!
Aha! Apparently graphic designer Ellen Lampl (ellenlampl.com) gets the credit. Magnificent work!
Okay, who is responsible for the graphic design of the creepy '50s board games in episode 2 of Widow's Bay? Because every one of those boxes is goddamn PERFECT.

@valancedbreakfast.bsky.social is a kickass storyteller and game designer. Legacy of Dragonholt is one of my favorite story games, and Artisans of Splendent Vale makes some of the smartest design decisions I've ever seen.
I will have to read some stuff offline for a while. While I'm away, why don't you praise a board game designer and let us know why you think they are awesome! In that way, I will have something heart warming to read when I get back! 🎲✂️
This month we present the first part of our retrospective on Fantasy Flight Games, which is subtitled "The Rise". You may be able to guess what's coming next month... www.ascentofboardgames.com/e/episode-81...
Repost with your first crush. (I'm sure there were earlier crushes, but this is the first one I remember.)
Bloody gorgeous!
Sun devourer Portrait commission for @hekersobek.bsky.social ☀️🐊 Had a lot of fun with the patterns on this one, I used this opportunity to drive deeper into the asthetics middle eastern manuscripts as well, which are unfortunately often forgotten about #art I'm still open for work atm!
I bought this...but did I do it ironically because of the title, or because HOW'S MY DRIVING is really good? (Hint: it's the latter.)
Tonight's the night! In celebration of the actual play, I created a MALL CRAWL for HOW'S MY DRIVING! It's Free on ITCH!

We got to playtest this set tonight, and it's just as good as Dead House and The Isabel, with some fun twists on the established formula. If you want a quick-playing, easy-to-teach GMful horror game, you're gonna want this when it comes out.
I figured out my John Singer Sargent ghost game. It's a Desperation playset about a séance in 1907. Each character also has a ghost version. A character:
If you're a writer, write "I waited" without saying it. Mine: "In my youth, she would have seen me checking my watch. Now I was just scrolling on my phone, my eyes periodically flicking to the time display in the corner as we became later and later."
If you're a writer, write "I waited" without saying it. Mine: I leaned like that against the wall, thinking little, idly dazzled by the leaves' motion in the sunlight, comfortably on my friend's timeline and not my own.
