In fact, Henk Rogers, the founder of the Tetris Company, literally regrets giving Nintendo the right to use the name "Tetris" because Tetris Attack has nothing to do with it.
One insane thing is how many trump soundbites there are like "i dont care about prices" & "you'll have to pay more for gas & like it" & every pundit was like "he just cut Dems an ad for them" & like there are 0 ads being aired by Dems with any of these quotes lol

This gets at a motte-and-bailey aspect of some AI defenses. "AI can analyze massive datasets," "AI might cure cancer" — these have nothing to do with how average consumers are using it, and you don't need to reject all machine learning to say it's absurd for schoolteachers to make worksheets with AI
Like three times a week a bunch of AI people who don’t do materials science swerve into everyone’s mentions to tell them about the incredible materials science breakthroughs Grok has been making and we’re all supposed to pretend like these are serious “moderates” on AI.
There’s no ethical consumption under capitalism but you do in fact have choices and those choices do in fact reflect on your character. Boycotts don’t work whether they’re “targeted” or “organized” or anything, participating in them is about what you choose to care about in your life.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, the problem with these movies isn't that you "have" to watch other movies to know who these guys are, the problem is every one of these movies is written for people who haven't seen shit, so it's a lot of the same introductions again and again.

I would never actually want followers for myriad reasons but I do wish I had a big enough account that I could just get on here and be like "does anyone have that parody video of scarface where there's a bar saying what the audience should be feeling above the movie" and get a quick response.
The failure of Biden and Garland to seriously lay down the hammer after J6 on both the insurrectionists, and more importantly, the politicians who enabled them will go down as a failure on par with the failure of reconstruction. A historic fumble I will go to my grave thinking this.

Justin Wolfers@justinwolfers.bsky.social · 3w agoThat's a big kick in the guts. Payrolls is much weaker, and the U.S. lost -23k jobs in March, well below expectations of +80k. Huge downward revisions, too: May now +63k (instead of +129k), June now +20k (down from +53k). Very bad news. Revise down your views substantially.
