An original comic of the characters Ulises and Makina when they were kids. Ulises is shown hesitantly peeking into the classroom, thinking “He’s right there…” as he spots Makina sitting at his desk. “Don’t think… Just do it!” Ulises thinks, trying to hype himself up into approaching his friend. He calls out his nickname “Makki!”, to which the latter turns to face him and replies “Uli— You’re here today!”

“I didn’t mean to miss your birthday…” Ulises mumbles apologetically, averting Makina’s eyes the entire time. The other boy says “Oh. It’s fine…but…” when he notices Ulises struggles to meet his eyes. He points out how Ulises’s hands are hidden behind his back, asking “Are you hiding something?” Ulises shyly responds with “It’s… your present. Can I see your hand?” and he holds out his hand for Makina, beckoning him for his own.

There’s a brief pause after Ulises asks for his hand, in which Makina just stares at his hand for a few seconds trying to process what he’s asking for. Much to Ulises’s surprise, he promptly offers his hand to Ulises without question, showing how completely he trusts Ulises to not prank him (as children like to do…). Ulises ties a friendship bracelet around Makina’a wrist, stating how “There’s some m-mistakes… but it’s supposed to match.” He points to his own bracelet, saying “See?” and Makina looks at his own to compare the two.

Makina pauses momentarily before responding, causing Ulises to down spiral into his own thoughts of negativity. “He probably thinks it’s too girly. This was a stupid idea.” he thinks to himself. Ulises tries to save himself some embarrassment by saying “I know it’s kinda lame—“ but is cut off by Makina. “No way. I’m never taking it off.” His comment takes Ulises off guard for a moment, but he quickly bursts into a smile at this friend’s enthusiastic reply. In the final panel, the words “Neither will I.” are overlaid on top, but whether these words were said out loud or just another string of Ulises’s thoughts is open for interpretation.
