sharing my favourite moments i wrote in this chapter because it deserves to be seen 1. underwear shenanigans 2. yb doesn't think crash landings are a big deal 3. explosion 4. gremlin incarnate wyb

"There is a discount on men's underwear!"

Usually those words would have filled Xiao Zhan with joy but right now he just kinda wishes Mingi would stop speaking so loudly. "That's great. I am getting–"

"Maybe you should try the animal print–"

"No," says Xiao Zhan, firmly. He still has some dignity left. He is not gonna put some leopard print over his crotch no matter what. "I will get my preferred neutral stuff."

"Did you say animal print?" says Yibo, suddenly much closer and sounding genuinely interested. "Underwear?"

"Yeah! Are you with him, sir?"

"Yes," replies Yibo, right away. "And I would like to buy some cool animal print underwear."

Xiao Zhan stares at him.

"Oh my god, is Xiao Zhan finally dating someone?" gushes Mingi.

Dear god. "N–"

"Yes," says Yibo, brightly. "And he likes seeing me in different kinds of underwear. Animal print, boxers, briefs and… Do you have anything with lace?"

"Yibo!" yells Xiao Zhan and slaps Yibo's arm.

“No. I detected some damage to the spacecraft when we took off. We are likely to crash land on some nearby planet.”

“What the fuck?!” Xiao Zhan stands up and stomps over to the cockpit to look at Yibo’s face. “What do you mean we are about to crash land?”

Yibo seems to have forgotten all about being hurt because he seems amused now. “Well, they must have done some damage with all that spectacle earlier. I could take off but I would need to do some repairs before setting off for the headquarters.”

“What the FUCK.”

“Calm down. It’s not my first crash landing.”

“Well, it’s my first crash landing! I will panic as much as I want to! How can you be so nonchalant?”

“Interesting thing about this planet,” says Yibo, emerging again to grab some tools. Jianguo is poking her nose out of the spacecraft as well but stays inside, apparently just as distasteful of the weather as Xiao Zhan. “J99 has a very high oxygen percentage in its air. Which is both a pro and a con.”

“What’s the con?” asks Xiao Zhan because bad news is the only important news.

“Explosions can happen very easily on this planet.”

“Jianguo, come here,” says Xiao Zhan immediately, stretching out his arms at her. Jianguo actually listens and comes to Xiao Zhan with her tail high, who scoots a little away from the spacecraft Yibo is tinkering with. “So now I am stuck here on this planet for a few hours with growing anxiety."

He has kissed before on those dates but nothing compares to what he is feeling right now. This may be the strongest urge to kiss someone he has ever felt. He wants to snatch that bottle away and push Yibo down into the sand and kiss those plump lips like a man parched. He wants to sink his fingers into those sweaty locks of hair and touch the evidence of Yibo’s hard work left on his skin in the form of soot, that somehow has become the focal point in Xiao Zhan’s fantasies of Yibo. What is it about Yibo and this dishevelled look that is making Xiao Zhan feel so…

“Ugh, I need a shower,” says Yibo, after he basically finishes the bottle. Xiao Zhan snaps out of his daze and looks away. “Wanna join? You looked a little thirsty just now.”

Xiao Zhan whips his head around and points an outraged finger at him. “You– YOU!”

Yibo cackles and springs up. He seems to possess an amount of energy that hurts to look at in this heat. “Too bad! It’s too small for two people. Better luck next time.”

“I am not–”

But Yibo is already skipping into the spacecraft, not listening anymore.
