The current debacle in British universities has multiple causes, but a simple, partial remedy for the disastrous Tory removal of student number caps was for Labour to reverse it. They didn't, and they will reap the economic consequences at a local level across the country.

Noting down and passing on family recipes is nothing new: our latest #NewAccession is an 1816 notebook titled “Recipes", possibly by Phillip Hall from Swanwick Grange in Alfreton. It even contains recipes for natural remedies to treat things like coughs. #19thCentury

The problem with this case - beyond the obviously limp complaint about ‘experience’ - is that I can see this easily leading to further job cuts, further overwork, and absolutely the destruction of several of those universities on the list. For something unavoidable, they will let HE burn.

This makes for incredibly - if predictably - depressing reading. UK Govt, if you want to upskill everyone, why not invest in your tertiary education sector rather than pushing this slop?!?
