“Don-Don, uppies!” She demanded.

Don chuckled. “Alright, where are we going?” He asked.

He gently grabbed her and stood back up. Ellie immediately pointed at the front door.

“Ahoo!” He begged.

“Sorry Ellie, but it looks like the rain is still too strong for us to get outside.” He denied.

“Nuuu!” Ellie complained, her limbs wobbling around aimlessly.

“How about we go see what Raph and the others are doing, hmm?” Don suggested.

He placed Ellie right in front of the stairs.

“Do you want to try climbing them on your own today?” He asked her.

“Ooooh!” Ellie realized.

Her eyes glittered as she placed her hands on the first step. She pushed her leg over the edge before grabbing the rail with strong fingers. Don patiently waited, his hands ready to catch her should she trip. It took so long for her to make it up the ten or so steps that Adam ended up looking back outside. He was distracted when he heard the flaps of cards being thrown in the air. It was quickly followed by the sound of small and big footsteps of turtles running just above his head.

“Ellie, give ‘em back.” Raph warned her.

Ellie giggled, her tippy tap expanding.

“Nuuu!” She refused.

“Imma get’cha!” Raph taunted.

Adam smiled. He tossed her in the air before expertly catching her back and nuzzling her head. She churred at him.

“Hi Adam, how did it go?” April asked him.

Adam’s smile waned a bit. He answered truthfully.

“Is okay. Am stressed, but is not too bad.” He said. “Have to show E to guest though.”

April placed a hand on his shoulder.

“It’s going to be fine.” She assured him.

“Yeah, don’t sweat it!” Casey added. “If ya can survive ‘Ma, ya can survive anyone.”

It was morning, right before training. The others had surprisingly woken up and eaten before him and his little one, so he was the last one to enter the dojo.

He walked all of one step before slowing down to a complete stop. His eyes drifted around the four turtles sitting in front of him, side by side, staring at him in silence.

Uh… Did something happen he wasn’t aware of…? Did he forget about something and was about to be scolded?

“Good morning.” Leo greeted him. “We’ve been meaning to talk to you about something. Please sit down.”

Worry grew inside of Adam. He gently placed Ellie inside her playpen so she wouldn’t bother them before kneeling in front of them. He felt like he was about to be judged in court. Not that he’d know, he’d only seen those in movies, but still.

Leo took a calm breath to center himself. After a glance towards the others, it was silently agreed that he would start.

“We’ve been thinking about something these past few months, but we weren’t sure if or how we should approach this to you.” He said.

“Did I do something wrong?” Adam worried.

Leo quickly shook his head.

“No no!” Mikey confirmed. “It’s not something bad, it’s just…”

He paused, turning back to their leader.

She stopped in front of Ms.Jones, stretching on her tippy toes while waving the egg high above her head. Ms.Jones grinned as she picked the egg up. Her fingers touched Ellie’s. Adam felt like they were slaps to his own face.

“Now that’s a well educated kid.” She praised.

Don crouched near Ellie. “Good job.” He told her.

Ellie tiptoed happily.

“When are you giving me a kid like that?” Ms.Jones questioned the human couple. “I ain’t gettin’ any younger, y’know.”

Ellie was brought back to the floor. Her tears were immediately forgotten as soon as she noticed a shiny new egg on the floor next to the couch. She cooed before rushing for it. Last time she found one of those, it was unfairly stolen by her excited Uncle Mackee. But this time, it was all hers!

“Eeee!” She squealed as she looked back at the others, the colorful food thing being shaken around by her tiny and proud hands.

She got it! This one was all hers and nobody would eat it! It was so pretty too, with vibrant lines of colors and little dots of other colors. It looked like a toy, but it smelled like chocolate! It was the best of both worlds!

“These are Easter eggs.” Leo explained to him as he crouched near him. “Easter bunnies hide those chocolate eggs on Easter day for people like you to find.”

“Quick, place it in the Easter bunny’s basket so he can protect them while you search for the others!” Mikey exclaimed.

Others? There were more??

She didn’t know what an Easter bunny was, but there was only one bunny around, so she quickly toddled her way over to him. She grabbed the edge of the wooden basket he was holding, her hand high in the air to deposit the sweets nice and safely inside. She watched it roll the edge of the basket before abandoning it for more.

“Bunny eee!” She ordered the Easter bunny so he could keep watch over her egg.

“Adam. Adam, wake up!” Mikey exclaimed.

Adam groggily peeled an eyelid up, glancing at Mikey to see if this was an emergency or not. Mikey grinned at him, excitement oozing out of him. Adam slid back under his blankets with a grunt. It was way too early for this. No thanks.

“Come on, Adam, you gotta wake up!” Mikey insisted while shaking his shell.

His bed sheets were tossed aside, and Adam sighed as he sat back up. Guess he wasn’t getting any more sleep that night…

“Today is Easter!” Mikey told him.

…Huh?

Adam looked at him questioningly. Arg! The flash of a photo being taken temporarily blinded him, making him blink his eyes.

“Alright! Today is the day!” Mikey exclaimed.

Adam groggily peeled his eyes open as he watched Mikey waltzing through Raph’s room like it was his own. He promptly pushed himself back under the sheets to hide himself from the concept of ‘being awake’ for as long as possible. He’d been doing too much at night lately, and now his schedule was all out of whack. It was too early right now for anything Mikey had in mind.

“Come on, Adam, Raph, wake up!” Mikey insisted while shaking the hammock.

Adam grunted disapprovingly, hiding himself further away.

“Uh…? What’d ya want, Mike?” Raph questioned. “We’ve been fighting thugs all night. We jus’ came back a few hours ‘go. Jus’ let us sleep, will ya?”

“Ugh, but that’s boring!” Mikey whined. “We said that today she’d show Lucy to Mayhem and Ellie!”

“…So?” Raph replied. “Mikey, Lucy’s still gonna be there this afternoon. It ain’t that much of a hurry, ya know.”

“Oh I know. We’re not presenting her right now. Leo just told me to wake you two up because he’s tired of training with only two turtles.” Mikey told them. “He said if you don’t show up for training today, you won’t get to go outside at night for a week to make up for it.”

Raph grunted. He sat back up, bringing Adam with him before sliding down the hammock. Adam shivered at the contrast of warmth.

“Why’d ya not start with that?” Raph complained.

“Because I wanted to make sure you remembered what the plans were for today.” Mikey answered. “Plus, it was funnier this way.”

Raph frowned with an eye roll. Adam yawned.
