post overwhelmingly about #ReadingFC #KCBaby #SportingKC and #GoBlue, in that order.

It is the 5th goal that #SportingKC have conceded this season from their own goal kicks. It's unprecedented in my charting. I have no other goals from SKC goal kicks going back to 2016 and just 1 from their own for SKC's opponents. As I said after the corner goal last, they are so badly coached.

Wicky on playing that goal kick leading to game-winning goal: "I don't think it's a situation where we don't have to play. It's the execution which is not right...if we play short, we have patterns to play out. We have movements we want, and then that shouldn't happen." #SportingKC

How to give up a goal from a corner? 1) man marker leaves man to watch ball instead of staying between man & goal 2) another man marker leaves man on seeing ball in but in bad read runs under pass 3) zonal marker shorts his attack of ball to duck from contact They are so badly coached. #SportingKC

That's 3 of last 4 games that #SportingKC have conceded a goal off a final 3rd attacking-leftside throw-in move to end line: Portland w/quick exchanges to end line run cut back to a wide open shot below spot, Nashville w/direct throw to end line run crossed into defender's hand and converted pen...

That's 2 goals off corners now for #SportingKC. One off their own, and one off the opponent's. The Current would be proud. Of course #KCBaby almost had their own corner counter goal v Utah today, but Chawinga uncharacteristically missed it. Would have been their 4th corner counter.

I know people will focus on Bryce, but we have 37 rushing yards for 3.1 an attempt. He's been not great, but Northwestern ran for over 400 yards on this team. 7.5 yards an attempt! Wisconsin & USC ran for +120 at 4.3 an attempt. Temple ran for 176 at 5.3 We have 37 rushing yards. #GoBlue

Well, there ya go, #SportingKC. You can change your corner defense, go from heavy zone to heavy man, but if your coaching is poor, it won't matter. Shapi was too far out in zone that should dissuade that ball. SReid should never at any point be standing at his mark's back to make that run so easy.

Was not convinced by Stokes when season started, and think Earthy made a huge difference when he came in, but Stokes has been good over the last 2 games. Credit to him for taking the 2nd chance and figuring out how to show the sort of player he can be. #ReadingFC

Well, that will not deter my theory of throws (that you should shift them to the opposite side as quickly as possible). Great little win to flick the header backwards. Great pounce.

Counter to broadcast commentary, the US didn't score that corner goal cause of zonal marking; they scored it cause of bad zonal marking. The zoner whose job it should have been left to chase shadows forward. He had been perfectly placed to attack the ball Richards was left to attack on his own.

Wicky cannot be manager past this season. He took a whipping that 2nd half. Quinn Sullivan changed that game, and we made him look like Andre Luiz while giving our own Luiz (and Harris) most of the half off. Continuing to try Afrifa in physical battles with giant Pierre instead... #SportingKC

We have finally scored our 1st set piece or corner goal of the season, but we're still -2.5 on my set piece charting for the year because we've conceded 4 goals from our own goal kicks. But hopefully the negatives are all behind us. This game is a stake for only positives from here on. #SportingKC

#SportingKC 's first corner goal of 2026 is one they've tried many times before, and Meyer has got his head to it a few times before, but never dealt with it as well as tonight. Deft deflection.
