Is it just me, or is this whole Bricks and Minifigs story about the most boring story ever? Maybe there’s something about my algorithm but YT keeps pushing videos about it. I get it, that one guy lost a priceless Lego collection and that sucks, really, but why are there SO many videos about it?

POV: me opening up the NYT Games app as I wake up in the morning [to the tune of Head Games by Foreigner] 🎶 “Word games…. That’s all I ever do… word games… I can’t take it anymore…” 🎵

I think I invented a new drink that’s a cross between a Soixante quinze (a.k.a. French 75) and a Hugo spritz. It’s basically the French 75 stuff with mint leaves muddled in. Help me think of a name for it. Maybe Victor Hugo spritz?

Life musings, part 4,108: There’s a saying: “when the wind changes, adjust your sails.” What they don’t tell you is that adjusting the sails involves pulling on a rope that is really hard to pull depending on how hard the wind is blowing…. (1/2)

Follow-up. What is Carambar? It’s a candy sold in France. It comes in caramel and fruit-flavored varieties. The fruit flavored ones are chewy, like Starburst. They have French jokes printed on the inside of the wrappers. It’s not the most awesome candy, though it’s not bad…. (1/2)

Picture of fruit-flavored Carambar, a delicious chewy French candy with dumb jokes printed on the inside of the wrappers.

Learning French with Carambar wrapper jokes, Part 1: Q: Que faut-il faire quand on a le cafard? Réponse: Acheter de l’insecticide. “Avoir le cafard” means “to be depressed.” “Cafard” also means “cockroach.” I know this is a play on words, but if you interpret it wrong, this could be pretty dark 🙂

The thing about it is, if you are against innocent people who are here legally being disappeared without due process or recourse to a torture prison in El Salvador, people on the right will say that you hate America and love crime and gangs. Why are you people like this?

This reminds me that when I was a little girl, I got a pet chick as a gift for Easter one year. We made a pen for it out of chicken wire in the backyard. It eventually got loose from the pen and ran away, don’t know what happened to it. It was an even shittier pet than Archer’s lemur.

Baby chicks were never an appropriate Easter gift for children, but especially not now with the spread of Bird Flu. 🐣 Get a toy chick and sponsor a rescue bird instead! www.merrymacfarmsanctuary.org/meet-the-birds

A pastel colored graphic comparing the cons of real chickens versus the pros of toy chicks. Text is as follows:
Real Chickens
Catch and transmit Bird Flu
Have sharp beaks and talons
Need lots of space and special housing to protect them from predators (and wild birds carrying
Bird Flu)
Poop a lot
Even the hens can be very loud
Are prone to numerous ailments that require treatment from specialist vets
Stuffed Chicks
Don't catch or spread Bird Flu
Require no space at all
Soft and cute
Live forever
Don't poop
Don't eat
Don't peck you
Don't cluck loudly and screech
Never need to go to the vet
