Looking for recommendations! I am teaching a Horror and New Media course in the fall. It will cover a wide array of transmedial horror texts (film, television, video games, internet content, podcasts, etc.) Comment any materials you think I should include in my curriculum 💜

Navigating academia in this current moment is terrible (seriously, the job market is god awful and even worse than it normally is), but seeing my work being cited more and more is genuinely thrilling.

I never imagined I would see a Jeepers Creepers-themed drag performance set to a dubstep remix of the nu metal song "Bodies" by Drowning Pool. But last night I was proven wrong.

A Black man named Keith Porter was shot and killed by an ICE officer on New Year’s Eve. Marimar Martinez was shot five times by an ICE officer in Chicago who went on to brag about leaving seven holes in her body. This is not new but it is expanding.

Your reminder that what happened to Renee Nicole Good is something that happens regularly in America. This is not new, but it is an expanded version of militarized people targeting Black people in particular. From ICE detention to murder with impunity, we've been doing it. Now it's broadened.

SEATTLE!!! We’ve now taken the lead by 91 votes! 🤯 This thing is certainly not over! Over 1,000 ballots have been challenged, so if you haven’t tracked your ballot yet get on it! Our trusty volunteers have been working hard to "cure" ballots so they count! We're so close!

ER doc here! This is a lie. Wait times are up because the American healthcare system is an unsustainable business model and a for-profit national healthcare system just doesn’t work. These problems will continue to get worse until we change that system. It literally has nothing to do with immigrants

Vance: "If you're an American citizen & you've been to the hospital in the last few years, you've probably noticed wait times are especially large & very often somebody who's there in the ER is an illegal alien. Why do those people get healthcare benefits at hospitals paid for by American citizens?"

Eddington is quite disappointing. It feels like a 2.5 hour South Park episode in that it tries to critique "both sides" but never actually says anything of substance. A very frustrating watch.
