I think it's funny that Wall Street, investors, and bosses have so thoroughly embraced AI as a vehicle to profit because of it's potential to jettison workers, but it doesn't actually do anything they claim it will, and eventually there will be a reckoning with the fact that they actually need us.

Some people go to church on Sunday morning. I just made waffles and chocolate milk, and me and the 6yo and 3yo are watching AC⚡️DC Live at Donnington and coloring.

FIFA tries to get everyone on the same page before the World Cup, but that often results in rigid application of the letter of the law, with no flexibility for how these players are used to officiating in their professional leagues. And you also have refs that will just call it how they always do.

Refereeing at the World Cup is peak bowl game refereeing, bc the officials can't be from either nation's confederation. So you get a South American team and a European team, and all their players play in England or Germany or Spain, and the ref is from Panama or Jordan. There's no uniformity.

Look, when you're on a yellow, you have to play differently. You can't be doing dumb shit that you know is against the rules. Fucked around and found out.

That wouldn't have been a yellow card, or even a foul call ordinarily, but because it was given to the Argentine and then reversed, they had to award it for simulation because of the mistaken identity rule. And he was unfortunately already on a yellow.

On stutter PKs: “After a review of all 60 official penalties taken so far at the tournament: Non-stutter penalties converted at 72%, compared with 54% for stuttered, staggered or hesitation run-ups.” It’s being attributed to goalies changing tactics and often waiting to dive.

That's either got to go wide or over. And that is why I hammer my players to always follow up shots! Trash goals count the same as brilliant ones!

There are only 215 days until Mardi Gras 2027 (February 9th). Easter is early this year, which means a short carnival season this year (just 34 days). Prepare yourselves so you can hit the ground running.

Lane Grigsby's march to shut down public schools in Louisiana marches on, as kids are resegregated. Wealthy white kids will go to private/religious schools, and poor kids/kids of color will be pushed out of their defunded public schools and into for-profit charters. share.google/pndgyETZqlA0...

There is an epidemic of dipshit, affluent white parents that think the law doesn't apply to them, and that it's okay for kids as young as 6-8 years old to be driving around on public streets in golf carts.

I deliberately avoided sports media this week so I didn't have to listen to dumbass talking heads who know nothing about soccer diagnose "what went wrong for the US." Asking why the US can't win a WC is like asking in bewilderment why James Madison isn't competing annually for the CFP championship.
