Here for the Arsenal

Feels like this is a move that takes two targets off the market for us - don’t see PSG letting Barcola go without a replacement. If Vini is a bust who’s left? Kroupi maybe. As much as I’d love Alvarez I don’t want the constant noise about Barca but maybe I need to be pragmatic.

🚨 Real Madrid expected to sign Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig. 1st bid rejected ~10 days ago, 2nd (€100m fixed, €120m package) set to be rejected but agreement likely soon. #PSG out; 19yo returns to #RBLeipzig on Mon with wish to join #RMFC 🚨 @theathleticfc.bsky.social www.nytimes.com/athletic/746...

Honestly feel indifferent to the Rogers news. I can’t rationalise the fees in the market at this point and I think that’s because prices are increasingly driven by wider supply and demand factors not entirely linked to the value of the player. I don’t like it but I have to accept it.

Martinelli left 8?? Could it be that the answer has been right under our noses all this time? Addresses depth at midfield and allows us to bring in 2 left sided attackers. A LANS play that even Papa Wenger would be proud of

Trossard leaves a hero of this club. So glad he has a PL medal to show for it. Balling at the WC too. I think he could have played a few more years in a top 5 league but if the wages on offer in Turkey are too good I won’t begrudge him that. Good fee and frees a spot for a ceiling raiser up front.

Gotta say pretty impressed by this Granit Xhaka guy. Great option as a seasoned pro, PL experience and leadership presence to replace Norgaard in the squad. Has his coaching badges too so natural progression there. Former midfield captains are in vogue right now

Struggling to connect with this WC. As I’ve gotten older and more aware of the politics each one has lost just a little bit of magic for me. This new format has also eliminated what little jeopardy existed at the group stage. The football fatigue is also getting to me. I’ll tap in for the final.

After the initial shock of not having a game to look forward to, I’m finding this break quite refreshing and healthy. It’s also an opportunity to revel in the fact we are champions. Been watching season reviews and reflecting on the journey that brought us here. Don’t let it wash over too fast.

Been reflecting on how tragically poetic it is that a season where the champions league had given us an escape from the weight of expectation in the premier league, produces a final act that sees domestic glory rescue us from the trauma of another European heartbreak

I don’t think enough grace has been given to this Liverpool team for what they’ve had to deal with after the tragic loss of Jota. Put yourself in their shoes. No amount of 0s at the end of your bank balance can protect you from the impact of loss and grief. They’ve done admirably if you ask me.

This must have been hard for Konate to talk about and he's brave for doing so. We forget about the humanity of these players, they exist on some level to us as just abstractions of people.

63 games man. I’m so used to the rhythm of a game every 3-4 days that I don’t know what to do with myself for the next 80 plus days (77 if you count the community shield, sooner for pre-season). I’m going to miss watching these guys over that period. That says a lot about where we are right now.

Also, can I just say that only Arsenal could find a way to win a first PL title after 22 years and somehow leave its fans feeling bittersweet. In all seriousness, what an amazing year. One that will live long in the memory. If I had to sum it up in 2 words I’d say unity and winnertivity.

I can’t lie it hurts, maybe even more than Paris because we’ve dominated Europe. But this isn’t the same old Arsenal. We have 1. The PL trophy 2. Our best players in their prime with the XP of winning a major trophy 3. Over 300m in prize money 4. Stability and ambition across the club 5. Arteta

I have many thoughts about that game and what it means for where we look to strengthen next but all that needs to be said right now is that those players deserve nothing but our respect and love for the way they fought for the badge. Personified by Big Gabi stepping up to take a clutch pen 👑🇧🇷 ❤️

My biggest regret funnily is the early goal. Game state was set from that moment and when we had to find another goal it was too late to switch our focus and mentality. Goals change games and mindsets. We knew we could grind out a 1-0 but we didn’t bank on all the margin calls going against us
