This is why when I'm asked to write external letters for promotion/tenure, I ask (in addition to CV and expectations) to be sent a list of resources made available to the candidate to support those expectations (e.g., research pool, conference/travel funding). Can't expect but not support.

I am expecting a wave of red-state public universities limiting the ability to employees to participate in professional associations that are deemed too "woke." This case out of Texas is just the beginning. Also, with budgets tightening, conference support is going to shrivel anyway.

I've been wrestling with my Rx insurance about covering a prescription written by my Dr. After two months of me calling (because #CVS #Caremark never calls me back), they just told me they wouldn't cover my prescription even with a prior authorization. Knowing that 2 months ago would've saved time

TIL: Looking through financial records for my employer, historically our dorms have been been over-capacity...by a lot. (2020-2020 were COVID years) I can't imagine saying "Students first" out one side of my mouth, while saying "Occupancy was at 116% of capacity" out of the other.

Unexpected teaching moment. In class today, we had to stop to teach college students how to insert and save to a USB drive. That was...unexpected. I didn't expect everyone to be cloud-based so quickly.
