Have I ever mentioned how magical Disneyland is on a rainy evening?
It is Day Two of my birthday, and how good of the Lucas Museum to open just for the occasion!
No birthday is complete without a piece of birthday cake!
Picking up my birthday lunch with Cameron today, and I feel like a King!
I have heard that the red cups tend to meet a grisly fate within the first ten minutes…
Spotted a rainbow over the last two remaining ticket booths on the east side of the Esplanade at the #Disneyland Resort tonight…
And this is what I am currently up to. Tonight is the Founding Member Opening Party for the new Lucas Museum of Narrative Arts. I am very happy to be here.
I was walking out of Disneyland tonight, and there she was. Just standing there. So, of course, I had to get a photo…
Thanks to social media friends who were posting photos, I was reminded of the partial lunar eclipse tonight. I had a clear view of it from out in the yard and it looked great! I even managed to grab a couple of photos with my iPhone… #LunarEclipse
Where else would I be for the 71st birthday (really, 71) of Disneyland?
This seems as good a day as any to remind everyone that it is not illegal to criticize the President of the United States, or to criticize the policies of their Administration. You may even do so using the strongest possible language.
Such sad news today that we have lost our dear Tinker Bell, Margaret Kerry. Back in 2002 she kindly invited me to escort her to the premiere of Return to Neverland. Thank you Margaret, for the friendship, the fun, and all that pixie dust! We will be looking at that second star to the right tonight.
Has anyone else here heard about the One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band declining to perform at the Freedom 250 Concert on the National Mall?
A very happy 85th birthday to original Mouseketeer Bobby Burgess! In January of 2001 I had the pleasure of serving as one of the volunteers at Walt Disney’s Carolwood barn as Bobby made a personal appearance, greeting fans and posing for pictures.
Winnie the Pooh was first published 100 years ago! These rather dog-eared copies I am sharing were purchased nearly twenty years ago at an estate sale in Flintridge. Can you make out the name stamped on the inside covers? Oliver M. Johnston, Jr. (Yes, that would be Ollie, to his many admirers!)
May the Fourth be with you! If you are the owner of one of these posters, it was personally handled by my late wife. Her father was one of the founding staff of NPR. Her first job as an intern included rolling, packing and shipping every single one of these that a listener wrote in and requested.
A happy St. Patrick’s Day to you, from the social media team at Walt Disney World, who inadvertently created a new mascot(?) I find absolutely terrifying (or at the least, unsettling).
Who missed the memo on this one? What good is #192 Lock and #193 Barrel without Shock?!? In an assortment of ten there’s room for just one girl (Sally)? And who is Pajama Jack???
And here I am today, 25 years later, once again opening Disney California Adventure. The park and I have barely changed…
This is where I was 25 years ago this morning… among the first 30 paying guests at the brand new Disney’s California Adventure park!
This is where I was 25 years ago tonight, looking across the esplanade from #Disneyland park on the freezing cold night before the opening of Disney’s California Adventure.
Apparently, today is the day we all post our photos with Josh D’Amaro. I have added an Easter Egg to mine. Have you found where Josh left his signature in the EnginearEar Souvenirs shop?
I was headed to my favorite TV watching chair, only to find… “Look at me. I am the captain now.”
25 years ago TODAY Downtown Disney officially opened at the new #Disneyland Resort. California Adventure and the Grand Californian would follow on February 8. Here is my article about the opening days of DtD over at DapsMagic. dapsmagic.com/2026/01/down...

Cat rescue at Disneyland! While parking, I saw a galloping little critter in my passenger mirror. Just as I realized it was a cat, it leaped sideways into a fence, and tumbled under the cars behind me. She performed the same stunt a couple more times until… she was coaxed out and brought in! Whew!
I am seeing out 2025 in the Upsidedown! With Cam for the final episode of Stranger Things at the Spectrum Center Regal.
Merry Christmas to all from the Happiest Place on Earth! (Sharing an image from the cover of a vintage Union Pacific Railroad Disneyland souvenir songbook.)
