Got in another tonpu on the way out, heading to the airport in just a few. It's been real.
We were talking with some oomfs after the panel and met some nice folks who had their Gunpla in those little carry cases so we got a picture of all our little guys together.

Goodbye Lara has exactly one problem, which is that it's too good. Each episode is so well put together while also clearly considered as part of the whole story that I don't have much to say about it except "damn, that's another fine cartoon" every week.
they still write these "episodes" btw they just go directly to manga adaptations or audio drama cds which no english speaker ever gets to see/hear/read unless they actively care to + know how to search for them and are bilingual. isnt that just great
Michaela Joffe@joffeorama.bsky.social · 2d agowe should go back to anime having 52 episodes a season because what do you mean goodbye lara is almost half over? like all modern anime it needs time for a beach episode, a christmas episode, a polarizing middle arc, an episode for the VAs to stealth-plug their pop group, and 4-6 “Nanami episodes”
There were a lot of great announcements at the Otakon Discotek panel but I don't think a single one of us won the evening as much as the girl dressed as Tear Grants seated two or three rows ahead of me. She was absolutely losing her mind out there.
It really makes me mad how Tomino literally said he designed the mechs in King-Gainer to look like plush dolls because he thought the idea of mechs who were sold as plushies instead of model kits would be a fresh idea for a toy and yet they never made any!!
Slept for ten straight hours in my own bed, comes highly recommended from me.
I think my big takeaway from this weekend, after talking to a bunch of different people who started a conversation with me after noticing my apparel and/or my itabag, is that the overlap between robot anime fans and type-moon fans is even wider than I thought.
Flight got delayed longer than our expected air time but we're finally seated and ready. I am about to sleep so good on this plane.
