I've been saying for a long time that we need to look at the triple lock - so I am very glad that this is happening. We absolutely should look after our older generations, but younger people also have a right to not be over-burdened with tax!

Great to know that @chrismcdonaldmp.bsky.social has been reading the *many* letters I have written to him and the dept on the Bletchley Investment Taskforce. Bletchley has so much going for it, and I will keep on banging the drum for our town. We're integral to getting our economy moving.
Huge thanks to Emma Hardy for stopping by Buckingham this week to hear directly from our local flood campaigners. It was also great to hear how our govt is taking a holistic approach to both flooding and drought. We all know these extreme weather events are closely intertwined.
Just before I head back to Westminster, here's one I made earlier... So proud to support Milton Keynes' bid to become the next City of Culture - and I will be banging the drum for Bletchley and our city at every opportunity. Let's go!
So happy to see a Labour win today. Congratulations to Sagal on becoming the new Member of Parliament for Holborn and St Pancras: looking forward to working with you! 🌹🌹🌹
Agree with everything the Prime Minister has been saying on this. We need a serious and honest conversation about how we provide dignity and security in older age. It's a huge challenge, but we have to start somewhere. Just because something is hard, it doesn't mean it's not worth trying.
After Andy Burnham recently revealing more details about a proposed shake-up of adult social care, we've unearthed an article in our journal dating from 1960 lamenting that "there is no policy for old age". Interesting similarities between then and now: politicalquarterly.org.uk/blog/from-ou...
Some thoughts on me on how party politics from Buckinghamshire Council's Tories are detrimentally affecting my constituents. You can be both pro-housing and shocked that one part of the county is getting *92%* of new allocations. www.bucksherald.co.uk/your-world/c...

Absolutely brilliant result in New Bradwell overnight, with a resounding Labour win in our city. Milton Keynes is getting a fantastic, locally-rooted representative in Cllr Tracey Bailey and I could not be prouder of our campaign🌹

A long time coming, but I am so pleased that our government is backing bereavement leave - including for pregnancy loss. Most decent employers offer this already, but it's vital that leave is enshrined in law. www.bucksherald.co.uk/news/people/...

Proud to speak in the House of Commons in support of Milton Keynes' bid to become UK City of Culture 2029. With a rich cultural heritage (including Bletchley Park), a thriving creative scene, and a city looking confidently to the future, MK is ready to shine on the national stage.

I'm sure every MP across the House would agree with me here - one of the absolute best bits of this job is celebrating our amazing local charities in the Chamber. And there are few finer than our local hospices. Happy 25th Florence Nightingale Hospices 🎂, keep up the fantastic work.
We must take care of our own, but that shouldn't stop Britain playing a leading role on the world stage re: climate. We've all seen those videos of Nepal. Great response from Ed Miliband yesterday when I asked if the UK is taking international leadership via the World Bank.
Bringing the same energy from the bale throw at last weekend's Winslow Show into our first week back in Westminster! 🧑🌾 Starting strong with a Westminster Hall debate this afternoon on the future of UK financial services. A different kind of heavy lifting awaits!
Imagine having the nerve to say to voters: "hey guys, afraid we want you to cancel your once-in-a-lifetime trip to Australia that you booked a year ago, because we expect you to be in the country to vote". Another absolutely mad policy from Reform. www.standard.co.uk/news/politic...

Really, really pleased that bus fares will be capped at just £2 throughout 2027. A *big* win for families, commuters and rural communities like north Bucks. Thanks too to work experience students Amelie, Daisy & Holly, who designed the graphics for this post! 🚌
