I'm realizing the Diablo-style arpg genre has over the years turned into the equivalent of a sensory overloading dubstep remix of an old song I've enjoyed. There are parts there I can enjoy, but I enjoy it because of what it kept of the original, not because of what the remix added or changed.

To the secret santa who gifted me the flu for Christmas: Just going to the kitchen feels like an odyssey. I can feel my immune system excited to have something to do, there's not an inch of my skin that isn't tingling. It's kinda nice. But I wish it did for a more fun reason lmao

Been playing Skyrim again recently and it strikes me how much it helps my immersion to not have any cutscenes and to have everything seen from the player character's POV. It's great. And the physics make the game still feel pretty modern to me even today. What a good game.
