Ffs, haven’t even finished my morning coffee and had to block two “artists” already. One for parotting Russia propaganda that Russia invading a country is somehow not Russia’s fault and one for spamming meaningless “news” items all the time. Ah well, it least it cleans up the timeline. :)

There's three general ways to react when you see someone else's success. 1. Positive praise and encouragement. 2. Silent respect. 3. Jealous rage and smearing. It is up to how you want to behave, but I know the sorts of people I want in my circles. A rising tide floats all ships!

A few questions for producers: How much do you follow music trends? Is it like omg I love this genre let’s try making it? Or, hmmm this genre seems popular let’s make that? Do you chase money, popularity or just making it out of pure love? Be honest!

Saw (ab)use of an Ultra HDR Gain Map for the first time today in a LinkedIn profile pic. Looked cool tbh (white parts of image pop out of your screen with higher brightness than you set the screen to), but I hope it doesn't become a trend. I use lower brightness for a reason (easier on the eyes).

Mid-weekly reminder: If you plan to release new singles or albums, or hold an online event (listening parties, concerts, etc) NEXT WEEK, August 3rd to August 9th, tell me about it! I'm putting this list together every SUNDAY evening. Artists, bands and labels of all genres are welcome! 👍

Apparently, for Gemini conversations, work is about 13.5% of total usage. Note that enterprise usage is where AI companies make money and 'enterprise' is a subset of 'work'. Reality is that most folks that use GenAI use it for day-to-day personal stuff and that's not where the money is.

Google looked at 15 million Gemini conversations: mostly TV, homework, and government paperwork. Work is only 13.5% of it, and almost none of that is trying to automate anything: cote.io/2026/07/29/h...

Hiya - I’ve been doing this music lark & putting out records, tapes,CDs and playing live pretty consistently now for nearly 3 bloody decades! And most of you still ain’t got a clue what I do!! I’m gonna try and do a bit of an overview of all my projects - from kings have long arms to some of my most

Any rules, guidelines, guard rails etc. you supply to your LLM are just additional context. They’re not actual constraints. They’re fed into the probability machine along with all the other context. The LLM may respect them, or not. No guarantees there.

On controlling AI: If your "strong constraints and guardrails" come in the form of context and prompts, you have no constraints or guardrails. What you have are hopes and prayers. LLMs don't follow instructions; they regenerate and recombine contextually appropriate tokens.
