alright, CYD+ v2.0 is nearly ready for a release! to recap, the feature list:

- decapitalization and terminology tweaks
- you can be a girl now! this can be changed at any pokemon center
- running shoes
- double-speed surfing
- overworld HM usage
- pikachu's beach without a surfing pikachu
- gendered pokemon! purely cosmetic as far as gen 1 goes, but useful for gen 2+ transfers
- shiny pokemon! also just visual but useful for gen 2+ transfers. includes a shiny icon in-battle and in menus for DMG players. press select in a pokemon's dex entry to switch palettes!
- "already caught icon"

- optional extra patch: spaceworld '97 sprites

- NO BUGFIXES this one is important. the jank (and vanilla compatibility) must be retained at all costs

there's also a secondary version of the hack (CYD-) which ONLY has the decapitalization

CREDITS:

the work i've done wouldn't be possible without the original pret/pokeyellow disassembly project, nor would it be possible without the tutorials on the pret/pokered wiki! nearly every feature in this hack save for decapitalization was done using those tutorials haha. anyone could have made this hack, really

leaf's sprites drawn by yesilovenachos and OmegaZeeZ on the spriters resource

48x48 trainer backsprites in the sw97 patch are my own edits! frankly i'm unsure if this is allowed for leaf's, but i'm unable to contact OmegaZeeZ in any reasonably convenient manner to find out. if you see this hack and have objections, please poke me about it and i'll have the sprites and/or edit removed!
