All this 'oh you must use AI, it's the second coming' has me scratching my head. I LOVE everything about researching & writing my books. I love that the work drives me crazy, invades my dreams, interrupts my walks. I love the challenge. This is living! Pity they've given up on themselves.

The berating of Fauci this past week has brought back memories of early COVID days. I want to shout out to @spl.org for the creative ways you devised for us to borrow books, the surprise sacks of books for children. You came through for us when we hungered for stories & information! ❤️👏 #libraries

Please stop saying “lockdowns.” There were never true lockdowns in the US, and it fuels far right narratives to repeat this inaccurate statement. You can say closures, you can say restrictions, or better, you can say public health measures which saved many lives.

Defenceless under the night Our world in stupor lies; Yet, dotted everywhere, Ironic points of light Flash out wherever the Just Exchange their messages: May I, composed like them Of Eros and of dust, Beleaguered by the same Negation and despair, Show an affirming flame. -W. H. Auden

Yesterday's wild winds were strong enough to shake my husband's hearing aid out of the tree he lost it in while pruning a few days ago. Thank you, wind. 🍃Thank you, tree. 🌳 Lesson learned: don't wear hearing aids when climbing in trees.

The world may be falling apart, but I am embarking on a month of practicing Shibashi Qi Gong every day. Balancing my chi, remembering for a half hour every day that we're all energy, and, who knows, balancing my chi may make a difference to someone I encounter, just when they need it. 🙏🎐☮️

Three months til deadline. First movement of the climax satisfies me. Now the rest of the trouble to face. Moments of angst, but sure beats reading the news. Write on, friends! Celebrate your imaginations!
