eBay users! Don't ignore today's email, even though it looks like a boring standard update to the User Privacy Notice. They want to use your data to train AI models. If you click the link over the words "the right to object", it takes you to a page with a toggle button letting you opt out.

These guys are a bunch of mean spirited bullies who only know how to get what they want by starting fights assuming the other side will back down, and pitching a fit when they don't. They enjoy being bullies because it's the only way they can feel important. Cruelty is fun to them.

I quite happily live in a neighborhood where most people do not share my religion, where multiple languages are represented, and where people have come from a lot of different countries. Bigoted assholes always assume everyone else actually shares their bigotries.

Here's the thing - the RestoftheWorld is watching to see what Americans will do, but we're reasonably confident that it'll be the same old same old nothingburger. I honestly don't believe that there's anything powerful enough to get them off their duffs. I wish I did.
