I've been trenching this afternoon and was surprised that the soil was quite damp down 8-10 inches

Had a fabulous time away. The Tommy Emmanuel concert in Warrington was just an incredible showcase of this mans rare talent. 2 hours of old and new tunes with "Classical gas" as well. He then went on to do a Q&A and explained his techniques. Utterly incredible show from this world famous guitarist.
Some lovely rain overnight and this morning. More on the way this evening apparently.
Temp 18°C and dropping off. Visibility reduced to about 6 miles with some rain showing on the radar. Fingers crossed. We'll take what we can get.

Heading out tomorrow, overnight in Warrington to see Tommy Emmanuel on Wednesday followed by a couple of days with friends in Shrewsbury and stop off at RAF Shawbury for some chopper spotting and frequency sniffing if time permits. Thoroughly recommend retirement😆

Had a great time at "The Bodyguard" in Cardiff. Cheap digs at the Premier Inn £65. Room 520 is huge.
Got back from our few days off and making the most of the cool 20°C weather with a Pimms in the garden. A lot of cloud coming in but no rain forecast
Mrs Mushroom and I are off for Dinner and a show in Cardiff this evening, then 4 days touring the countryside. I am forbidden from bringing radios. Ah well.
The wise are not the ones who have arrived. They are the ones who are still walking with good company.
Tried a quick test on 6M FT8 and the new Halo antenna seems to get out ok on 50.313
The 6M halo is up and running. SWR 1.5 with room for improvement, but I can live with it. A truly simple build, easy assemble/disassemble. moonrakeronline.com/hlp-6

BBQ T-Bone? Don't mind if I do. Our local Butcher/Fish Monger is a champ. Never lets us down with great cuts of meat. Utterly delicious👌
21°C light breeze. There is shower activity about 10 miles away, nothing on the radar though. Luckily not too hot to do a rain dance.
First Sweet pepper another 4 not yet ripe. First year of trying Peppers and although it wont feed the multitudes it is a success of sorts. The Courgettes however are going gangbusters.

Courgettes are cropping well now that the weather has warmed up. Also a gratuitous Nasturtium, no idea where that came from.
