The Blue Angels and crew stay at my athletic club while they’re in town, and I just saw some of them in the lobby. I kept my mouth shut, but I wanted to say this so bad.

Coaxing heavy metal into the sky, then wrasslin’ and wranglin’ it back to the ground again. Cardigan aficionado. Queer with a homosexual sensibility. Seattle living and world gallivanting. I pretend to write. 🌈 www.captainbobbie.com
For the avgeeks, I got up close and personal with that ex-Virgin Conviasa A340. (At least I think it’s ex-Virgin.)
Now I know the lyrics are open to interpretation, but you can’t tell me Celine was being a bit of a hussy with “To Love You More.” 💅🏼
Morale is low at work, but today was cool: I flew a humanitarian flight to Venezuela and got to hang out with Lebron, the anti-drug dog who was very friendly (approved by the handler of course). He came on board to snoof some things, mostly my leftover arepa.
Having spent too much time on the airplane yesterday, I started to wonder about Don Garment’s life. Was he happy? Fulfilled? (On the 767 freighters, we don’t have evacuation slides; rather, a diaper harness that you “don” and jump out of the plane to a workman’s comp claim.)
A Big Beautiful Boeing Booty amidst the mountains of Honduras— this is the first time I’ve been to Tegus during the day.
Dog days of summer mixed with glory day aviation relics rotting in the sun.
A legend flown west. I used to see her as a baby pilot running around WAI conferences, and she was a true inspiration!
"Wally, you're a girl. You can't do that." Funk was one of the 'Mercury 13,' the original group of U.S. female astronauts, who while technically qualified, never made the journey. But in 2021 she finally did - fulfilling a six decade dream of flying into space. 🚀
Gustav was giving me problems. I don’t need a Volvo. But now I want one. Someone tell me no!
Fellow whites, you should be paying Black people today. Happy Juneteenth!
Today is exemplary of how joy is a surfactant to the greasy feeling of fascism. Watching the Obama Presidential Center opening ceremony healed me a little bit, and it gave me the hope that there ARE better days ahead. (Plus Hillary’s cackle about the Nobel Peace Prize was pettyyyy 😈💅🏼)
Due to my schedule, I likely won’t be home for Pride in Seattle— so I took my dentist (a dear friend, IYKYK) to a drag brunch at my “gym.” Ok, so the Washington Athletic Club is more than a gym but a community that is no longer “male, pale, and stale.” It’s a new era of inclusivity. Happy Pride!
I’ve done exactly two lessons with zero practice in between. But “my” coach played professionally and keeps me coming back for some reason. I figure it’s more structured and strenuous than pickleball. 🎾
Just ordered myself a tennis racket for the first time in years. Might even mess around and join a team at some point. Given I was a 3 year varsity tennis player it’s about time I give it a shot as an adult.
How do we feel about FLYING mag? I grew up reading Les Abend, Dick Karl, and Martha Lunken. But I let my subscription lapse. I feel like I saw something about their EIC being Tr*mpy, and I’m not about that. Plus, several of my faves have left.
My route? I never know. This is what I did over the past two weeks with a couple repeats— took horses to Santo Domingo, brought an engine from Panamá, and baby chicks from Tegucigalpa.
I’m glad Bulgaria won, because could you imagine the conspiracy theories? #Eurovision2026

I don’t do heat, and Miami isn’t my vibe. But a Cuban barber will get me all the way together. Enjoy a tasteful thirst trap.
34 and feeling like a who— classy woman of a certain age! I did everything I wanted to do on my birthday: cold plunge, jazz brunch, and a gay lil concert. Now I’m luxuriating in the San Juan Islands. DND, worry about yourselves, TIA for everything.
When checking into the Amex Centurion lounge, you have the option of looking up your flight. It’s sort of jarring to see my employer and several former airlines in the mix 😅
I have no affinity, nor do I generally like that compAAny, but American’s 100 year anniversary swag is well done. (I wish they’d bring back the iconic logo.)
A gay pilot underneath double rainbows during a maintenance delay? Groundbreaking.
If I don’t get a lil romance soon, I might combust. Lucky ducks!
Nerdy question for pax airline pilots: I’m a flea ridden freight dawg, and we don’t have wifi. Thusly, we are relegated to the ship’s onboard radar. Do you find that having other information, presumably via in-house wx apps, helps you navigate cells better (than the old days)?
Agnetha needed a sunset spin, so we did a loop around the lake. I always love snooping on what vessels come here for work.
I learned to fly in these here mountains, and it’s always special to be back in the Missions.
I blocked that Canadian lady for being condescending in my replies. You’re not stealing my joy on a sunny day 💅🏼
I always love living here, but we’re officially approaching I-Can’t-Believe-I-Live-Here season in Seattle. We really have the best mix of nature amidst an urban landscape.
