Still not surprised some people have an issue with this book. It’s a great read and look into the Regan-Era mythology verse the on the ground reality of economic disparity, the rise of fundamentalist thinking and our insatiable delusion that the material = happiness. TGIF it is not…
If anyone makes these and it actually looks like the box, please let me know…
The STAR WARS theme must cost a lot of money, making it too expensive for a STAR WARS game, no idea what this airport chain restaurant theme is, but I’ll take the orange chicken and #3 fried rice, extra peas…but, I hear this is a fun game all the same…
PALE BLOOD (1990) *** - I’m grading this more on style than story, as while the story is fine, it’s really only exists to give the style a floor and it’s got style, it’s got quirk, it even goes a touch meta. A negative - the original songs don’t really lift the film like they think they do. Good.
THE PRINCE OF DARKNESS (1987) - the middle of Carpenter’s loose apocalypse trilogy, this still works. It raises so many questions between faith and science and leaves you with few answers, but a lot of thought. Cause and effect…and what really happened to that 7 of Spades?
AMAZON has added a new cheat to their live TV service, apart from commercials they normally run, they now run commercials DURING the show by shrinking the show to billboard an ad. You’ve seen this in sports broadcasts, but now just regular shows?, on a platform you pay for…ugh…
No idea how or why he has this in his collection…
As Mike and I make our way through BUCK ROGERS IN THE 25th CENTURY (1979), we’ve come across what is perhaps the best episode of Season 1 - SPACE VAMPIRE. I was sure I remembered this as being awful, but no, great episode and reimagining of Dracula. Plus, Erin Gray goes full evil here…recommend.
MILLENNIUM (1989) *** - the premise still works, borrowing a shade from LA JETTE (1962), this time travel mystery is long on style and performances, but does need a bit more backstory to sell the dystopian future better, but as a concept it still holds together very well. Recommend.
SUPERGIRL (2026) ** - the positive?, Milly Alcock really sells Kara here, she puts in the work, but the material? - the film really needed to pick a lane and decide if it’s an origin, a introspective, a revenge drama, a comedy? It flips so much, so fast, it never touches ground. A miss.
I have such a backlog of games and I’m finally getting around and into CRIMSON DESERT and even only about 20hrs in I can say…it’s amazing. I love nothing more than exploring and discovering and enjoying just avoiding any and all quests… cannot recommend this enough.
TRM (2025) ** - this got savaged in the box office and by the critics and for a good reason, but…it works, just barely. There is some great material here, it pulls a good focus on the present, but gets lost in lacking more world building and a fear of not going far enough. It tells more than shows.
Looking forward to trying these on the husband…well, maybe not on…but, hmmmm? Thoughts…
Seeing this now on applications for jobs. They want you to use AI, but not when applying, because they know AI is a lie only good for protecting the companies profits, not people - so, don’t use AI now, that would be cheating, only use it to deny coverage when the time comes…
This was actually very good and I’m looking forward to the next two parts. Recommend…
