Bumblebees like much cooler conditions than we are currently experiencing How can we help? Water flowering nectar-producing plants Choose drought-tolerant, bee-friendly plants: salvia, catmint, verbena, marjoram Even a few nectar-rich flowers help bumblebees on hot days #bumblebeeconservationtrust

Caring for God’s Acre works nationally to support groups and individuals to investigate and care for burial grounds
In the hot dry weather many are putting out shallow bowls of water in gardens to benefit wildlife. Could you do the same in your local churchyard in a shady place? Ponds are unsuitable for churchyards but a container with shallow edges or a ramp so small mammals can climb out can be helpful. #CFGA
What did I hear? Crickets Walking in a churchyard you might wonder where that idiom came from as the sound of crickets assails your ears! Producing one of the quintessential sounds of summer crickets are better able than more delicate insects to tolerate hot dry conditions #CFGA #natureinchurchyards
