On Saturday morning 8/1/26, the cirrus clouds in the sky above the High Peaks glowed with soft warm pastel tones as they caught the early rays of the rising sun. This was captured at 5:41AM.

'Dancing in the mist'... A pair of loons 'walking on water', revelling in beautiful dawn light against a backdrop of the Adirondack High Peaks on Saturday morning 8/1/26
A wider view of Saturday morning's sunrise light as it rose above the High Peaks and began to light the landscape at the south end of the lake. A panorama is best viewed as large as you can get it on your screen.
I was up early this morning for a paddle on a wild lake near the High Peaks. I arrived for dawn light, and caught this angle on my Hornbeck canoe and the rising sun just before 7 this morning.

Every State should be doing this. We know he's going to interfere in the election because he knows if we win, it's the end of his regime.
A sand castle facing the rising tide. With the tide going up another 10 feet or so, it won't last much longer! Taken during my 5 day Acadia workshop back in mid June at Sand Beach.

Finally a journalist who had more balls than the entire press corps of the USA. It figures it would be a woman who we assume has no balls, which shows us that the so called "men" of the US press are capons, not roosters.
First light on the clouds and landscape was quite special this morning here at Brant Lake!
The early bird gets the sunrise? 5:08 AM this morning at the Boreas Ponds in the Adirondacks.
We had a spectacular sunset here at Brant Lake a couple of evenings ago on 5/20/26.

Did you see the beautiful sight of the crescent moon and Venus last evening in the clear sky last evening? (Brant Lake, 5/18/26)
Shelving Rock Falls - taken during Saturday's Lake George area photo tour. It was a beautiful soft light day, perfect for photos of the falls, along the brook, and over a calm Lake George at the end of the day.

Why Saturday's "No Kings" Rally Is More Important Than The Last One

Dawn light over the High Peaks from Wright Peak on 3/3/26. This was taken at 6:10 AM and the eclipsed moon is very soft in the sky above the distant snow capped peak on the right on the pano.
The eclipsed full 'Worm Moon' at 6:03 this morning, captured one minute before the 6:04 timing of totality. I was watching the various stages of the eclipse as I was snowshoeing up Wright Peak this morning. Weather cooperated to get this photo and a few others, but then disappeared behind clouds.
