It was a real pleasure to hear the Honourable Erin O'Toole yesterday at Huron University. His call for respectful conversations on difficult topics across differences and to listen, to "dare greatly" & serve your community were impactful. As ever, the students posed thoughtful questions. #cdnpoli

My husband's family has been evacuated because of the Bradley Creek fire. It is dangerously close to their house. My thoughts are with everyone affected by the wildfires in BC and across Canada. There is a lot of anxiety and sadness. Year after year this happens. It's heartbreaking. #BCwildfires

As this incredibly hot summer progresses, and now wildfires in northern ON are devastating entire communities while smoke blankets southern regions, threatening vulnerable citizens, I urgently want to talk about #climatechange policy. @mattbrownldn.bsky.social just reminded me that we did last year.

Encore Episode: Outdoor @cityoflondon.bsky.social programming was cancelled yesterday & Rock the Park shut down early, too. Last Aug. @caroldyck.bsky.social joined to talk about climate change. The conversation we had is just as relevant today. the-matt-brown-podcast.simplecast.com/episodes/enc...

New favourite mug. Particularly appropriate right now. Year after year wildfires impact Canadians. People are suffering tremendous loss with the Ontario fires. Here the smoke is thick. We should not normalize air quality so bad kids can’t play outside. It’s time to get serious about climate change.

Less than a week ago I met with my MP Peter Fragiskatos to call for the Canadian govt to implement concrete policies to cut emissions & adapt urban areas to rising temperatures. Days over 30C have doubled for July. It's time to take climate change & its effects seriously. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

Yesterday I successfully defended my Ph.D. thesis "Making Space for the Biodiversity Beyond National Jurisdiction Agreement in the Arctic Ocean: Reimagining Governance of a Melting Arctic" in the Faculty of Law at Western U. Thank you to my supervisor Prof. Oosterveld & my examination committee.

Poilievre has no sense. Not only do we need this project, it should have happened decades ago. AND, it should extend to Windsor & Sarnia. Canadian rail is severely underdeveloped. People need viable options other than cars & planes to travel that corridor. #cdnpoli www.cbc.ca/news/politic...

Shocked & devastated by the news from BC. My heart goes out to the parents of the deceased & injured teens. It also goes out to all the kids, who will be forever impacted by such a tragic event. The trauma in Tumbler Ridge is unimaginable. Just want to hold my own teens closer today. #TumblerRidge 💔

An old story but needs revisiting. A Canadian-based company should have no part in this deal. ICE is committing atrocities against children, seniors, citizens, asylum seekers, human beings. #ICE #Minneapolis #https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/ice-ordering-vehicles-brampton-roshel-9.7001107
