If there are things in your garden you never got around to harvesting, think of them as gifts to the animals with whom we share this Earth, including the microbiome within the soil, a vast complex community of living microorganisms made richer by the organic materials you've left unharvested.

On the House floor tonight, Massey read the names of several Epstein co-conspirators who should be investigated and prosecuted. Some he did not name include Donald Trump, Mohammed bin Salman, and Dr. Karyna Shuliak (Epstein's dentist girlfriend who inherited his empire).

🧵The tide is turning. Most people -don't want data centers -don't want the Iraq war -don't want flock or other cameras surveilling us all the time -don't want ICE agents terrorizing and killing innocent people -don't want the National Guard patrolling our streets

True. I see artists creating art and experiences for people for free all the time. I see animal rescuers rescuing animals even though they can barely feed themselves. I see helpers of all sorts, helping, creating, teaching... Hell, youtube is full of teachers who've never made a dime, including me.

This is an excellent thread. I grew up in an old mill town that was left for dead after NAFTA moved all the jobs to other countries. The tiny mill houses that somehow housed whole families still stand. I'd never read any of this about these mills trying to unionize or governors calling out the Guard

#ResistanceRoots Today in history, 1934: Tens of thousands of textile workers go on strike in the Deep South. By the end of the first week, up to 500,000 workers walked out across 15 states. Just 50 years later, working-class voters in that region became the most reliable anti-labor, Repub base. /1

Workers form a picket line during the Textile Strike of 1934, also known as the “Uprising of ‘34.” Organized by the United Textile Workers, the walkout began in the South and grew to encompass as many as half a million workers from 3,000 mills in the South, Mid-Atlantic and New England. Then the largest strike in U.S. history, it lasted 22 days until violent backlash and a personal appeal from FDR prompted the UTW to end it. The workers won no concessions. The low wages and grueling labor continued. Because thousands of workers were permanently blacklisted, no one ever spoke about the strike. We can draw a straight line from this outcome to the cynicism, disillusionment, anti-union culture and low voter turnout that have made the South a Repub stronghold.

A reminder for Corporate Democrats: New research from Yale found that Medicare for All would save over 114,000 lives and $1 trillion a year. It's no surprise why the majority of Americans — including 90% of Democratic voters — support it.

John Galliano was going to be honored at the 2027 Met Gala, one of only three living designers to be honored while still alive. His friend Anna Wintour selected him despite his past praise of Hitler, his anti-Asian hate and his antisemitism, all of which he chalked up to alcoholism rather and racism

The Michigan "Money Out Of Politics" initiative is going to be on the ballot in November. Voters will get to decide whether to ban political spending by state-regulated energy utility companies – including DTE and Consumers Energy – and companies with large government contracts.

Natalie Harp was a registered EMT until she let her license lapse in 2022 to become an aide on the Trump campaign. She is trained in emergency medicine. What wonderful previous experience she just happens to have.

People on the left often call the right "racist" and "scapegoaters". We need to notice how many on the left are harnessing Islamophobia to try to get establishment dems elected. The vitriol they're pouring onto Muslim candidates and influencers should alarm us all. Using racism this way is fascism.
