I'm so fed up with the heat; getting up at crack of dawn to fling open windows for a breath of air, walking the dog before breakfast, watering the garden with endless trips carrying the catering can, wearing the least amount of clothing to stay cool but remain decent, not using the oven - gah...

We didn't think we'd be able to see the eclipse as we are surrounded by trees & the sun was low. But Mr.B put 3 welding goggles together & we saw it in it's entirety. Then we went for a walk to see the weird shadows...

Took Mr.B out for a birthday lunch at our local Turkish restaurant. Fantastic meal culminating in the waiters bringing him a surprise bowl of icecream with a firework on top while they sang Happy Birthday. Worth it for the look on his face...😊

I'm walking home from a friend's carrying a toy parrot & in my bag a plastic sword she'd borrowed for a pirate party. 2 lads behind me called me "Gangster Granny with a sword" & one asked if he could hold it. He did a bit of swashbuckling, then I asked for it back & they went on their merry way. 😂🐦

So this happened: a while ago the police visited my daughter's daycare & gave them all some bits& bobs including a personal alarm. As my daughter is never unaccompanied, I thought it a good idea to attach the alarm to my dog walking bag as I'm often walking in the middle of nowhere.

Got up at 5, flung doors & windows open and got temperature in bedroom down to 66C. Had cup of tea, walked dog who got the zoomies because it was almost chilly out there. Waffles& strawberries for brekkie, then off to the early showing of Minions & Monsters. Great morning!

We visited a small zoo yesterday. Looked at a huge tarantula sitting on the back wall of it's cage; a man with his family asked if the spider was there as he was scared of them. I couldn't see the spider when I looked again. Then back wall of cage was opened by a keeper...
