me in 2021 looking at a huge baremental/embedded codebase: "omg woaw this is so awesome people are so smart and write such amazing code and publish it, for creatures like me to enjoy?! 🥺 woaw woo" me in 2026 looking at a huge baremetal/embedded codebase:
got an external GPU working today on Quasar 8550 in MNT Reform Next, an Intel Arc A750. works very well. caveat: needs a little hardware mod on first revision MNT Reform Next mainboards, because apparently the SoC can only output a PCIe refclk, not receive one. so the clock synth on the […]

pretty excited to be having some early discussions on the future of governance in Nura, it seems one of the first things will be to form a team to handle pmaports maintenance and make technical decisions #Nuraeco
@cas This. So. Much. Even if there's a work that's drudgery, I don't want to hand it over to an LLM. Because it rids me of the possibility to learn and gain knowledge. Of course, drudgery is still something I'd like to avoid, but in my experience, doing a deep dive into this annoying task often […]

saw someone on HN say they will never contribute to Nura again since we ban LLM generated contributions (they had receipts too, they had contributed in the past) their argument was that having done device porting manually before, doing it with an LLM was something like 10x faster having seen […]

first day of the #postmarketOS conference has come to an end! such a lovely energy, awesome talks and people!
Only two days until the postmarketOS and Alpine Linux conference starts! 🤯 We will have live streams + recordings and will take questions from the audience, and Matrix/IRC rooms at the end of talks. Speaking of which, there are so many amazing […] [Original post on social.treehouse.systems]
some of ya'll never got to enjoy Resurrection Remix OS on your phone and it shows used to be able to customise every goddamn pixel of my phone
[ranty, KDE, DDH, big tech] I swear FOSS discourse has evolved into the same reactionary infighting seen in leftist spaces. It is wild to me, how a bunch of people scream “nazi bar”, when a certain guest speaker in the KDE space brings up Omarchy as a bad example and publicly denounces DDH […]

RE: https://social.treehouse.systems/@cas/117268900449789072 to sum up my philosophy here, postmarketOS has never been about the latest cool trend, we aren't trying to "sell" you on the tech so much as we are trying to sell you on the concept of actually owning your hardware and having the […]

There main reason we need a good geoclue2 replacement, is that we need to make vkcube spin the other way around in the southern hemisphere.
Obligatory Pre-Conf Post for MRMCD: I like to meet new people at these events, but I know how awkward it can be to approach somebody, I feel the same. :neocat_floof_exclamation_mark: So this is an explicit invitation to reach out via text or just talk to me at the event! :neobot_happy:

the Adwaitapod rockbox theme seriously has better always on display support than #LinuxMobile and this device doesn't even support AOD in hardware also it honestly feels like such a faithful implementation, truly astounding :D hope i get some time […] [Original post on social.treehouse.systems]
OnePlus 6T unbricked thanks to advice from @cas! 🎉 I've installed #PostmarketOS #Duranium on it because I think an image-based OS is a better fit for phone. Now I just need to figure out how to make Waydroid work because that doesn't seem to be […] [Original post on social.vivaldi.net]
I present the latest in U-Boot Qualcomm development. This is a pre-production Fairphone 5 running U-Boot as a full replacement to Qualcomms proprietary EDK2 stack This means unlike in the typical case on a phone where the display has already been […] [Original post on social.treehouse.systems]
