It is often said that good fathers lead by example. That is certainly true with elephants – older bulls are mentors, guardians, and founts of wisdom. Baby Saba (ex-orphan Sunyei's daughter) got sleepy and settled at the feet of a visiting bull. He happily stood guard until she was done.

1 Year ago I adopted Chance. She had been stabbed in the stomach and spent her life on the streets. She shows us all that no matter how bad things get in life there is always a way back for us all.

There's a dynasty unfolding in Kenya. The matriarch? Edie, an orphan we rescued in 1999 after she fell into a well and was abandoned by her family at first light when herdsmen arrived. Today, she is 27 years old and a mother of five – her newborn Enid joining Eden, Ella, Eco and Enzo.

Meet Bumpy! This enchanting little chap was rescued over the weekend. This was Bumpy's first night with us, snuggled next to Keeper Simon. Simon put his mattress on the ground and the tiny hippo nestled by his side, swaddled in his cherry blanket.

The most beautiful relationship ever. A month ago little Maple Syrup had been stabbed in the stomach and her elderly owner reached out to us for help. Fully healed, maple syrup is back and it's the most beautiful thing you could ever see

This boy badly needed our help today. To anybody who comments on my posts / shares / supports my work this is the only way I can say thanks. By using the good will and support to spend time helping the dogs who need it most and who have no one. Have a lovely holidays 💕

Zebra foals imprint on their mothers by recognising unique stripe patterns. When we rescued Bombi - orphaned after a lion attack - we dusted off our zebra coat so she didn't feel alone and knew who to follow. Peter's the primary carer to Bombi and Kaluku's other non-elephant orphans.

From tiny orphans in need to wild-living families, we support elephants every step of their lives. Elephant conservation is not the work of a moment, but a multi-generational commitment. To date, we have rescued over 300 elephants and welcomed 77 wild grandbabies of our Orphans' Project.
