I wish more people think things through to be honest
While we're on the subject, let's address the more casual kind of ableist language. "That's insane" "This is mental" "It's crazy" "How stupid" "That's pretty dumb" "Such an idiot" "What a moron" "This is lame" All I am asking is that folks think about the words they use. #AltTalk #Accessibility
Technologically advance a TTRPG: Polymersworn
Technologically advance a TTRPG: The BLOODY-HANDED NAME of IRON
Ouch, this hits me right in the spot
The shitty thing about open-world games is that many of the buildings are just facades, and the player cannot enter them. "Holy shit. Eclairs?" Nope. "A used book store? I've hit the jackpot!" You can't go in. "Hell yeah! A BBQ joint!" Not for the player it isn't.
I feel like Mörk Borg Goblins can easily become a kind of zombie with a little bit of modification and reskinning tbh
Goblins aren’t born—they’re made. If one attacks you, you’re cursed to become one too in a few days, unless you kill the goblin that attacked you. Hit or miss makes no difference. Once in goblin form, your body (except your eyes) gets a murderous life of its own. All you can do is watch and cry.
I like this more than the "make it good later" one to be honest
saw a post i liked on tumblr today.....didnt see that they'd posted it on their account here but i wish they would its a sentiment that resonated w me more than making "good" art it's just important to make art....thanks man
Wow
I love this analytical take on video game categorization from Antoine Mayerowitz and Julie Belzanne: hushcrasher.substack.com/p/taxonomy-o... Instead of trying to vibe-intuit the definition of an "indie" game, the authors analyzed the data from the perspective of game size and credits length
Cool
Some worldbuilding of mine: I always thought that the Bell Telephone would be the perfect design for anthros to use, so I decided that’s the one that stuck in my world! Here’s a little thing I did showing that off back in 2022. #art #furry #furryart #worldbuilding
The Wretched by @loottheroom.bsky.social. I dislike it at first tbh due to its tone (not my cup of tea) but I have come to like it as time goes by The Wretched & Alone system that came from that game and The Sealed Library (by, well, Sealed Library) came to be the basis for When Glamour Dies
Game Designers... what was the game that got you into designing #ttrpgs and why? For me it was Fiasco by @jmstar.bsky.social - it was/is a great game, I enjoyed playing it. The format was mind blowing but it didn't quite do what I wanted. So I wrote When The Dark Is Gone which did. #gamedesign
For me it is consuming any piece of media and resisting the urge to incorporate elements of it into my fictional settings if they don't make any sense
Being a game designer is hard in many ways. But the hardest part is consuming any piece of media and resisting the urge to turn it into a game.
Interesting
