I would tell people that knowing and following Jesus Christ is good. When someone submits their will and autonomy and entire life to his direction, that is a good thing. Reject the subconscious assumption that being "too religious," in the sense of following Jesus, is shameful or embarassing.

I think further investigation could help unify Gregory’s theological anthropology with his work on the Holy Spirit as a ground for trans theology on trinitarian orthodoxy. Currently these two streams from his thought don’t have much cross-influence that I’m aware of.

So once again he demonstrates the robustness of his theological anthropology rooted in his expansive understanding of the imago dei, IMO not a coincidence that it's the same principle underlying his anti-slavery sermon and also his discussions of gender which continue to influence trans theology.

I think a principle like “Jesus basically taught us to love everyone” is a crucial theological result but a wildly inadequate theological norm. Every christofascist I’ve encountered sincerely affirms this; they just go on to say that being gay is harmful so it’s loving to prohibit it.

Mumford & Sons singlehandedly crushed this entire group of scenes, in my experience as a college student during this period. I watched Underoath and MxPx listeners pick up mandolins and banjos; not an exaggeration.

As far as explicitly labeled “Christian music” goes, circa 2007-2013 was its zenith — the indie scene, the folk scene, the punk scene, the metal scene, the rap scene were all LIT, and included a greater diversity than (conservative) evangelicalism was ready for — and it all died like THAT

Worf actually took over Data's role on the Enterprise in "The Most Toys" and did a damn good job at it.
