Its never too early to start learning about plants! CAZCA joined the @dbgphx summer camp to teach the 6-8 year old campers about native and invasive plants of the Sonoran Desert 🌵  Who knew there was so much money (even in the form of gold) involved in removing stinknet?? 💰

Thank you to all the amazing volunteers who came out to the Franciscan Renewal Center to remove 67 invasive fountain grass & plant 67 native desert milkweed 🌱 Through their hard work, we helped to protect our community and our beautiful Sonoran Desert and create habitat for its wildlife 🌵🦋

Field trip to Apache Junction to learn about the fire fuel management work Siphon Draw is doing 🔥 Their innovative approach aims to restore the natural spacing of the desert while removing wildfire fuels like invasive species and dead, dry plant materials by using controlled burns. 🔥🌵

We aren't waiting around for Santa to bring the gift of restoration! The Desert Defender elves have been working around the clock at the Rio Salado Audubon Center to get rid of invasive stinknet and make space for native wildlife 🐦‍⬛ If you see stinknet- pull it, bag it, and throw it away!
