found this little guy on some Mody family stationery today. not sure if the snake is specific to the medical branch of the family (my GGF, GF & uncles) or if other lines used it too. what a cutie!
I'm rather fond of the Mody family motto, "dum spiro spero" (while I breathe I hope) but TIL that it's also the motto of the White Rajahs of Sarawak and the state of South Carolina?! might be time to look for a better one. any suggestions?
great write-up by @lawrencelundy.bsky.social of our convo ab/ tech bubbles. really helpful to see my old work on CNTs & superconducting computing & newer research on @nanobubbles.bsky.social in light of Lawrence's Qs ab/ how to apply historical findings. cntdispatch.substack.com/p/bubbles-cr...

eager for the #ESHS-HSS cèilidh but feels like I need to do some homework first. best filmic representation of a cèilidh? watched I Know Where I'm Going recently; that one certainly advances the plot (such as it is), but best I've seen so far has to be Local Hero: www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qdV...
