Some of these just create themselves—Leafy Seadragon, anyone?! 🎨🐡#sycamorebarkcyanotype #intuitivedrawing

Some color, too! Very happy that my little patch of zinnia keep blooming. And found a hint of color to come in this beautiful crabapple leaf. 🌱#zinnia #crabappleleaf
Out watering this morning and see some fungi showing up. The jelly-like one must be a variety of witches butter. 🍄 #fungi
Prepping for this fall’s SciArt September! Found two drawings from a previous round (maybe 3-4 years ago?) Looking forward to seeing what the prompts inspire this year! 🎨🐡 #sciartseptember #sciart
Really enjoying this series I am working on! Cyanotypes with intuitive line work on top. Each is unique and I never know how it will turn out until it is done. Stay tuned as there are more to come! 🎨🌱 #cyanotype #penandink #intuitivedrawing
Inchie Challenge — the week’s drawings all together. This was a fun way to play around with ideas and mediums, without being intimidating. A two-inch square takes the pressure off! Thanks to @amymaricle for this great experiment! 🎨#inchiechallenge2026
Last day of the Inchie Challenge! Day 7: Complicate. This brought to mind complex molecular interactions in biochemistry, usually depicted as bubble structures. 🎨🐡#inchiechallenge2026 #complicate
Inchie Challenge, Day 6: Eucalyptus. Did a quick watercolor sketch of two varieties of leaves - the long leaves of the tree and the “silver dollar” variety often used in flower arrangements. 🌱🎨 #inchiechallenge2026 #eucalyptus
Combining several of my favorite things! Intuitive drawing on top of cyanotype prints of sycamore bark. I feel like this one is bringing fantasy landscape, geologic features and ancient artifacts to mind. What do you see? Definitely planning more of these. 🎨#sycamorebark #cyanotype #intuitivedrawing
Inchie Challenge, Day 5: Lines. Decided to try some new, earth-toned gel pens I have. Started with some straight lines leading to curvy ones. 🎨#inchiechallenge2026 #lines
Inchie Challenge, Day 4: Landscape. Normally, I am terrified of landscapes and also of watercolor, so this tiny format was the perfect way to give it a try. This is Sleeping Bear Dunes. I was tempted to add some gel pen, but held off. I like the looseness of this. 🎨 #landscape #sleepingbeardunes
Inchie Challenge, Day 3: Blue. Played around with some of the blue watercolors I have, including some with mica for a little sparkle. Added some blue gel pen on top. 🎨#inchiechalleng2026 #blue
Visited County Farm Park and the community gardens. Lots of beautiful summer flowers! #summerflowers 🌻🌱
Inchie Challenge Day 2: Sprinkle. We finally had some rain here overnight so I was thinking of water. Some layers of blue watercolor with white and silver gel pen on top. 🎨 #inchiechallenge2026 #sprinkle #watercolor #gelpen
Inchie Challenge begins! This daily drawing practice was created by @amymaricle and I love getting back into it. The day 1 prompt is Wildflower. I chose to draw the beautiful and intricate stamen in my Canadian anemone that is currently blooming in the rain garden. 🐡🎨 #inchiechallenge2026
In preparation for next week’s Inchie Challenge with @amymaricle I realized I have amassed a nice number of doodles over the last couple of years! It is fun to see them all together and great to see how small, regular practices come together into something bigger.🎨 #intuitivedoodle #intuitivedrawing

Ok, so they still have those fluffy eyebrows, but my husband caught a great photo of their developing feathers this morning. So pretty! 🪺#finchfledgelings
Love the old man eyebrows on our finch friend. 😂 And a beautiful visitor as I was bringing garbage cans up from the curb! 🪺🦋
There is such an interesting, pink/purple hue to the sky tonight right now. Wildfire smoke, sunset, and some rain starting. #sky
Very excited to have my Cardinal Flower (Lobelia cardinalis) illustration accepted into the GNSI 2026 Annual Juried Members Exhibit! First time I have made it in. 🎨🐡 See all of the amazing artwork here (and soon to be posted on the GNSI page): www.artworkarchive.com/profile/guil...
It seems I interrupted dinner! Since this nest is right outside of our front door, each time I open it, the mama bird flys off. This is the first time I saw the fledglings reaching up! 🪺 #housefinchnest
An intuitive doodle for July. I liked the rich, warm colors of the background on this one and added the linework, as usual, randomly. I rotated it a few times and decided on this view. #intuitivedoodle #ink #watercolor
We had a beautiful, low/hanging rainbow in our backyard just after a cloudburst this afternoon! So pretty! #rainbow 🌈
I took some cut/folded paper on our travels this past weekend and ended up with a fun multi-view doodle! I connected most of the designs between panels when folded, so that was neat. I like how it looks when standing in various 3-D poses. #intuituvedoodle #penandink 🎨
