Media literacy ain't dead, it was just heavily mangled in a collision with a '98 Subaru. Check out my website for a little bit of everything: https://ccsynan.com/ Catch me live on YouTube...sometimes: https://www.youtube.com/@ccsynan1420

Between bots, astroturfs, brigades and the 90:9:1 rule, there just isn't going to be a social media space that isn't an echo chamber. If you want to interface with someone that has fundamentally different beliefs than yours, talk to them in real life.

"Bluesky is a political echo chamber" okay but I'm mostly here to chat with fun internet people and post art and make jokes, I cannot stress how much I don't care

This is a good sentiment but it also says something about Musk's companies that all of his products are either markers of extreme luxury or just plain bad. Like people might find themselves falling back on Amazon or Lyft, but Grok? Very few people are falling for Grok.

It is resistance to buy nothing from Musk. No cars, no satellite stuff, no Grok tokens, no battery walls, no driverless taxis, no robots (should they make it to market), nada, zip, zero, nothing. Eventually stock prices will reflect fundamentals—and Musk won't be able to buy elections anymore.

Hi @github.com I am a neurodivergent professional. I am extremely insulted and enraged that you would use my stuggles, and the struggles of people like me, to push your exploitative, inhumane technologies. Stay the fuck away from us, we don't trust you and we don't your help.

The story around AI used to be about generating more. For many neurodivergent professionals, the bigger benefit is offloading invisible labor: remembering what you promised, the dozen tabs open in your brain, the thread you meant to reply to. ⬇️

Least surprising thing ever. Algorithms turned social media posting into a job. If you just want to post around to a small community of friends and like minded people, the venue for that is group chat servers. Social media wants to be all about "influencers" now.

Fewer people are posting on social media, for understandable reasons. Most sites are algorithm-focused, pushing garbage into your feed instead of what you want to see. Social media companies only have themselves to blame for this boring, toxic mess. ca.pcmag.com/social-media...
