Last week, in partnership with Hope the Mission and The Village Family Services, we proudly opened the doors to our newest shelter in Council District 4: The Oaks, a new home for transition age youth right here in Encino! 🏡

We're excited to share that construction on the Studio City Rec Center is now entering its final phase! Beginning today, August 3, access to the park from Landale Street will be temporarily closed through the remainder of construction.

⚽️That’s a wrap on Fútbol for the People! This free community watch party series was a reminder of what makes LA special: when we come together, our parks become places of jubilation and belonging, our neighborhoods become communities, and we all grow a little closer in the place we call home.

Our CD4 Homelessness Team — the first of its kind in the city — builds trust in the field, connects one-on-one with folks in encampments, tracks results with service providers, and helps people navigate the path from the street to permanent housing.

Yesterday, I was proud to stand alongside @keeplahoused, @acce_action, and a courageous group of tenants to mark a major victory for renters: the first lawsuit filed under the strengthened Tenant Anti-Harassment Ordinance (TAHO). Angelenos deserve to feel safe in their homes, period.

Wildfire Day:LA, hosted in partnership with @mysafela, @losangelesfiredepartment, @hhfsc_, @theautry, and @lazoo, was a fantastic, free community event bringing together families, first responders, and preparedness partners for a powerful (and fun!) day of learning and connection.

It was a joy to join hundreds of neighbors from across the San Fernando Valley at SFV Pride this weekend! As Pride Month comes to a close, I'm grateful to everyone who continues to build a Los Angeles where every person can live openly, safely, and out loud everyday. 🏳️‍🌈

Today, joined by his friends and family in City Hall and at home, we adjourned Council in honor of David Codell, one of the most consequential civil rights litigators of his generation, who passed away at the age of 57. It is clear David touched the lives of so many, and he will be dearly missed.

When we asked Studio City businesses and neighbors what Ventura Place needed most, two priorities came up again and again: more parking and a safer street. We’re excited to share that we’ve delivered on those priorities.

Today in Council, I was proud to congratulate @lacorps on 40 years of service to our city. CD4 is proud to support LACC, whose work includes illegal dumping cleanup, vegetation removal, and beautification across the district. The before-and-after photos tell the story better than I ever could.
