Proud Canadian and Native Victorian... where I stash pics of the public things I love and things I feel strongly about. All the photos have been taken by me, all the paintings have been painted by me, and are owned by me.

My great-Aunt Esther circa 1927 at their house on Queen Charlotte Islands. Notice the chickens. The eggs were part of my great-great-Gramma's income when she was widowed with 3 children. She had to row them to market when the current was flowing with her. Then return when the current reversed.

Deep respect to the Wildfire firefighting teams who give hope. This is the night-vision Firehawk helicopter. Credits to my cousin's son, owner of Contour Helicopters.

Painting of Jake's last home, a "Vancouver Special", in Mt. Pleasant. Designed by draftsman, Larry Cudney, thousands of these houses were built in Vancouver between 1965 and 1985 to address the housing shortage of the time.

Took a day trip yesterday to visit family and reflected how much the BC Ferries are part of the fabric of islander lives. There is always a chance you can see a pod of orcas. When we moved back to the island as a child, when we took road trips, when we brought our son as a baby on his first ferry...

Art Fight Attack #3 "Clover N Boots tricks Berry the Ogre" Using a Puss n Boots theme where Puss tricks an ogre into changing into something small, like a mouse. And then Puss kills it....in the ogre's castle. @artfight

Memorial painting of my Dad and two of his brothers, Terry and Norm in Maple Ridge. They'd moved from the Queen Charlotte Islands and rented a 20 acre farm with fields of strawberries, raspberries, green beans, apple trees, and a cow.

The Quilter Watercolour Painting - Richard's old coworker posted a photo of her sewing a quilt for her friend's wedding. She had a quality control cat helping her.

Sometimes one of my family or friend's photos inspires a painting. Rona posted this picture of Benmore Estate on the Isle Of Mull on the other side of the world from me. Looked idyllic.

My Meditating Sock Monkey painting was inspired by the mini sock monkey made from a pair of my son's child-sized socks and my coworker who is visiting his homeland soon. The paint colours in the banner are also all in the marigolds.
